also because Dark Knight was such a huge success and HP6 would have been, and they (WB) didn’t want 2009’s profits to look underwhelming

MIDNIGHT SHOWING!!! WOO HOO!!! i love harry potter and this was my favorite book!!! sooo excited!!

I actually thought the 5th movie was decent in this regard. They managed to quickly summarize large segments of the book in a way that did flow, even if it lacked he ideal amount of detail.

I agree with Heaven. There’s only so much time for a book with so much detail and action. I’ve always been ****ed tht they never put Peeves in the movies… I always wanted him in there. It would’ve been hilarious seeing him throw dungbombs at 1st years :P

I would think that Peeves presents huge graphical challenges. His character in the computer games was always awful-looking.

^ LMFAAOOOOOOOOO @ TCBH
Who cares about Peeves? What about Dobby?!

Sadly it’s too late for Dobby. I don’t think it will be sad when he dies in the movie. Like Jar Jar Binks.

I don’t think its too late. They NEED to put Dobby back.
Hahaha man I love Star Wars too :$

In my mind when I read the books, I imagined Dobby to be cuter and less… er… wrinkly than the movie Dobby. But yeah it’s kind of weird to have Dobby in a couple movies and expect a non-reader to understand the impact of when he dies (if they show how he dies). Oh well.

You know which death in the book didn’t surprise me?

Ron Weasley’s.

I mean Hedwig’s. Her presence would have been such a nuisance to include in the trio’s adventures. There would be absolutely no place to put her. She was a loose thread the author needed to cut. And it made sense.

Whats with ron being bold? Probably a typo.
It scared me for a second, I actually believed he died
And how was she a nuisance? She could fly =)

Oh, that was for emphasis lol. Like a shift from an interrogative tone to a deep and profound one, full of meaning and implication.

Hedwig would’ve been utterly useless to Harry in the last book. Rowling couldn’t bring her along with them (for story-telling purposes), so she had to provide an explanation for her removal. It probably would’ve been less tragic if they just let Hedwig go out into the wild or something, but her death provided a nice foreshadowing and a more somber mood.

Oh, nice transition lol.

That’s what I thought as soon as I read her death. I thought “I hope she isn’t foreshadowing here…”

Hedwig would have been a huge nuisance throughout book 7. She simply had to go.

I’m SO excited. Omg.

I completely forgot Hedwig died.

I was surprised when Harry died.

i’m glad that they’re making HP7 in 2 parts.

The actor for Ron has swine flu…

HP7 – is that like Inspiron 15 or 530 or what?

Who still buys Dell?
