D got the Hankins scholarship plus about $30K in additional scholarships and grants. Wake wasnt her first choice but they made us an offer we couldnt refuse. Outstanding student; SATs 700, 740, 780. ACT 34. Student body Pres. Valedictorian. All state in volleyball and track. Lots of community service. Wait listed at Princeton, Georgetown and Davidson, accepted at Duke and Brown. Parents very excited about her attending Wake. Both are middle class workers in the Southeast area and know that Wake grads are highly respected in the job market better prepared than kids from other schools to plug and play.

We are completely freaked out by the offer and are really at peace with our D going to Wake. She’s been working so hard for so long, I guess Wake is where she’ll feel right at home.

I was interested in this thread because I have a S who should qualify for aid next year. We didn't get any first year. EFC for him will be about $24000...was wondering what kind of packages they generally put together.

My D called yesterday to follow-up on a letter we got saying taxes were missing. After a few calls they found the taxes and everything is fine, but according to my daughter the woman that left her a message from the fin aid office said that her aid letter would be going out in about a week. Not sure if all letters will be this late....

Hey everyone, i jst got my finaid. My efc was around the mid 30k range. Anyways...they offered me 22.6k, of which only 13k was scholarships. The other 9000 were loans/work+study. Im probabaly not gona go to wake now. Financially, its too much for me to handle esp. w/parents who dont rlly support me.

I called the FA office and determined that they had been waiting for a form already in my daughter's files since before she was accepted. They were very helpful and assured me they could get her offer out to us in 24 hours. I would URGE anyone who has yet to hear from WF-FA to call them immediately. As a need blind school, they are under a great deal of pressure to analyze the accepted students in record time. Overall, they were most helpful and highly response...and what more can you ask for at this point?

My D called and they faxed her the offer. She was hoping for some merit aid, but only got the $3500 Stafford Loan. Oh well, my H and I alway said do D, you worry about the grades/test scores to get in and we will worry about the $$. Time to really put our money where our mouth is!
