<p>Hey guys! So I am in-state for Uof Pitt and was wondering whether my low GPA will stop me from being accepted to the university. </p>
<p>Location: Very competitive public high school in Pittsburgh, PA.
Income Status: <40,000 annually.
Year: Junior</p>
<p>UW GPA: 3.3/4.0
W GPA: 4.3
Mostly all honors and AP courses except for the mandatory regular classes. My foreign language grade pulls my GPA down considerably. Upward trend. All As in related classes to potential major which would be Philosophy, Political Science or Economics.</p>
<p>APs: AP Chem 4</p>
<p>Currently taking 2 APs. AP Physics and AP Environmental Geoscience.</p>
<p>SAT: 760 Critical Reading 760 Math 740 Writing. 2260 overall.
ACT: 34</p>
<p>ECs: Chess player, top ranked in the country for my age. 99th percentile for U18 year olds.
100+ hours at the Pittsburgh Chess Club. Also on the board of directors for the club.
Leadership position. </p>
<p>Works as an assistant in an international business consultancy firm. </p>
<p>Part of the Existentialist club, President. Also of the Happiness Club, no leadership position. </p>
<p>Model UN participant, I have won some awards locally and regionally. </p>
<p>Have run Cross Country for 3 years. Will go for four next year and have run track for 1 year.
Other things: Guitar, bilingual. I am an immigrant from Russia and speak the language fluently. Recommendations should be really good from teachers and from work. </p>
