Anyone for a desperate chance?

Hey guys! So I am in-state for Uof Pitt and was wondering whether my low GPA will stop me from being accepted to the university.

Location: Very competitive public high school in Pittsburgh, PA.
Income Status: <40,000 annually.
Year: Junior

UW GPA: 3.3/4.0
W GPA: 4.3
Mostly all honors and AP courses except for the mandatory regular classes. My foreign language grade pulls my GPA down considerably. Upward trend. All As in related classes to potential major which would be Philosophy, Political Science or Economics.

APs: AP Chem 4

Currently taking 2 APs. AP Physics and AP Environmental Geoscience.

SAT: 760 Critical Reading 760 Math 740 Writing. 2260 overall.
ACT: 34

ECs: Chess player, top ranked in the country for my age. 99th percentile for U18 year olds.
100+ hours at the Pittsburgh Chess Club. Also on the board of directors for the club.
Leadership position.

Works as an assistant in an international business consultancy firm.

Part of the Existentialist club, President. Also of the Happiness Club, no leadership position.

Model UN participant, I have won some awards locally and regionally.

Have run Cross Country for 3 years. Will go for four next year and have run track for 1 year.
Other things: Guitar, bilingual. I am an immigrant from Russia and speak the language fluently. Recommendations should be really good from teachers and from work.

Thanks guys for chancing!

With an SAT score like that and activities, you should be in without a doubt. I got in with an 1840 SAT and a 3.8 GPA.

THANKS! Its just the GPA is the most important aspect and its really low. You have a much higher GPA so that’s why you got in. But thanks for the opinion!

Dude, with that W GPA, you should be fine.

Well the GPA is heavily weighted. Honors classes are out of 5 and APs are out of 5.5. The classes are very rigorous so the weighting is heavy.

I got accepted with a 3.9 Weighted GPA , 2020 SAT and 31 ACT, 3 AP classes. If I got in you’re in for sure, assuming you keep up your performance the rest of junior + senior year.

And your GPA is great. Infact all your stats are great. Give yourself some more credit! Gl with the rest of HS.

Thank you so much for the opinion! When you look around on the other posts, you feel very small compared to the people with perfect GPAs and 2300 SAT scores and pages among pages of ECs. Well this brings me up quite a bit.
