"they wouldn't have gone through high school again but would have directly applied to the colleges in question. Going to high school as an exchange is more a proof of financial capability than extraordinary talent."
I'm in premiere...not in terminale; therefore I'm not going through high school again. When I made my decision about this year, it seemed to me smarter to go between T and 1ere because, as you said, going after the bac would be very hard to handle (for applications, american or french, and financial aid).

And I'm still hesitating about all of that because, even though I'm having a good time here, I seriously miss my family and I don't see myself spending one year in France and leaving again. I think I will certainly have more chances to get financial aid (or at least a good loan) if I go to prepa and then apply.
But we never know... For now, I'm just collecting information.

well i'm not french but i've lived in geneva (switzerland) on the border with ferney voltaire for the last 6 years. i am applying to both canadian and american universities.

and by the way, the aid applications for most universities are feb 1. so if you still want to submit that form, you can.

Well if you're a junior it changes A LOT. In that case, I wish you the best for next year, start thinking about the colleges you see yourself attending and may the force be with you :-).

What is it that you all don't like about the French higher education system? I'm an American on an exchange program in France (je suis en Seconde). I've fallen in love with France and want to come back after high school, and go to either a university to study math or science or cpge + grande
