Anyone get in to UCLA with 3.0 to 3.2 in engineering

Anyone get in to UCLA with 3.0 to 3.2 in engineering

I'm sure there has been someone in the past who got in to engineering department with such gpa, but it constitutes very very small minority of admits who lives under very special circumstances. If you want to know whether it's possible to get in to engineering with 3.0 - 3.2, the answer is YES. But I can assure you it is not the norm and the average admits have consistently had GPA around 3.6 (and this puts into account people from CCC and other UCs, who gets priority in admission; if you are from OOS, you will be competing for the very few available spots left, so it'll naturally require higher GPA for you, perhaps around 3.7/8).

But it isn't unheard of, but rare indeed.

My friend got into engineering with 3.2 gpa. And he didn't do TAP. He's Chinese and he's still shocked. lol

So which other Ucs do u think I can get in to?

I'm actually in the same situation...

What do you all think if someone had a 3.2+ish GPA, TAP, IGETC, and all pre-req's done for engineering...?

Sorry luckyguy, I didn't mean to steal your fire....everyone answer his questions first :D

Could you guys specify a particular engineering field you are applying for rather than just engineering because it is really broad.

I don't mean to be rude, but you need to do more research on your own. This is about the 3rd thread on the same topic you have posted. Your chance at UCLA is slim, but apply and hope for the best.

for me, civil engineering

for civil engineering 3.2 is a reach but if you guys get it up to 3.5ish your chances will increase greatly assuming you finish most of your prereqs.

I'm working on pre-req's and boost that gpa, then I'll just apply next year...thanks!
