Yes, they do but they are not notorious for giving a lot of aid...I guess it depends on your profile.. I have the impression that they are looking for a more well rounded student body these days...some extracuricular interests in addition to academics.. Geographical and ethnic diversity.. girls for sure... Older threads herein have lots of jokes around the subject of financial aid and R-H (kind of like an oxymoron..) But if you ask me, the education you'll get outweigh that concern... It is very challenging and we spend a lot of our time studying... classes involve a lot of discussion. The support system for new students is great..The upper classmen won't let you get lost or left out.. Strong sence of school spirit that really pervades the students in a practical sense. There are formal and informal study groups, which really accomplish what they are supposed to accomplish..There are job fairs from the get go which increase exposure and give experience.. So far for me, it's been everything it was cracked up to be. Good luck to all.

I was accepted in October. It's my number two choice after the Air Force Academy, loved it when I visited. Tough choice since it is the most expensive school after financial aid from others.

My daughter is at AFA right now. We "found" this school and applied for her, but she had her heart set on West Point or AFA. As she never visited she wasn't all that interested. We are going to make sure her sister visits--it sounds like a very nice school, and AFA isn't for everyone.

I also chose it because the AFROTC program between RH and Purdue are phenominal. My heart is set on AFA, but back-ups are essential! REAlly great campus, really nerdy kids lol.

Does that mean you go back and forth to the Purdue campus? I would think that would be inconvenient. Actually we kept two spots open for my daughter during the summer in case she didn't like the AFA. One a small private school that was willing to hold the scholarship until mid August, and the other was just the local university where she would have had to live at home as housing is very tight. The local school starts toward the end of Sept. It costs about $200 to reserve a spot, (no housing or meal plans or anything else) She loves the AFA, but we thought it wasn't a bad idea, since otherwise you could only go to CC if you came home early. You can't believe how cute those girls are in their "outfits" er, I mean uniforms!! My husband is so proud of her he can hardly stand it!!!!

Me was accepted to Rose-Hulman today hahahaha
I'm so happy and I thank God for allowing me to be happy!
Yay~ Best of lucks to you guys!

Hey, good for you!!!! That is a great feeling... All the best to you.

So I was accepted today, but I really need to visit. I'm all up in the air about colleges right now lol

is there anyone here from catapult session 1

what on earth is the catapult session?

Operation Catapult is a summer session for high school juniors. E-mail R-H and ask for a brochure. The folks at R-H have a great sense of humor, which is evident not only in the Operation Catapult brochure, but also in their viewbook.

I started this thread over 2 1/2 months ago, and my S finally got his acceptance. We just got back to NJ from visiting and had a great time at Rose. Since it was finals week there was no overnight visits available nor classroom visits. However, we did get an great tour and met a lot of very helpful students who went more than out of there way to help my S feel welcomed and wanted. He actually almost had an overnight since we visited the dorms around 10:00 PM the night we arrived, and the students in the lounge talked with us till 3:00 in the morning. RHIT is now the #1 small school for my S, only competing with UIUC and a few others he has not received decisions from yet.

Where in NJ are you from?

Morris County

Hey, got the aid packet today. They are giving me 36,000 total (3000 per trimester).

Anyone else heard?

yep! D heard couple of days ago. Reasonable package, but not great.

where in morris county???

I'm an accepted student from New Jersey. I didn't realize anyone in NJ other than my boyfriend, who told me about RHIT, knew about the school. :) I will probably be going to Rose, so it's kinda comforting knowing there will be some people there from my area.
