I got my acceptance letter a few weeks ago and a nice merit award. Anyone else going?

I got my acceptance letter a few days ago...now I'm just waiting on my financial aid package to come in.

Congrats on Manhattan. What's your major? I'm engineering.

Government. Maybe a Government/Sociology double major, if I end up going.

How long after your letter did you get your aid info?

Maybe 3 weeks. I did not think I had received any money so I was happy to get it. STay in touch and let me know if you decide to go. Are you from NY?

Nope, Maine. Three of my nine schools are in NY though--Fordham, Manhattan, and Wagner.

I got in a few months ago. They gave me a scholarship for about $14000. Are any of you definitely going to MC? I'm a comm major from NY, btw.

I'm going and am an engineering major. Are you commuting?

no, definitely dorming and hoping to get a room in Jasper Hall...I think my parents would shoot me if I stayed in our house any longer :p You?

Yeah, on campus too but hoping for Crys. (sp???) hall. Where are you from in NY? I am from Highland which is across from Poughkeepsie about 1 and 1/2 hours north of NYC.

I live in Merrick, on Long Island. I'm about 40 min. away from the campus as long as there's no traffic.

By the way, have you found annnyything else online that talks about MC? I have a bunch of questions that their website doesn't address, and I can't find other forums or anything with people from MC.

i got in. what did you guys who got merit scholarships get on your SATS and GPA?

I got in.. only got a $9000 scholarship.

3.4 GPA 1930 SAT (620 V 720 M 590 W)

probably not going to Manhattan.. depends where else I get accepted

2006 fall engineering transfer

I dont hear much about this school in any website around so i was curious to know what your thoughts are on this school. How generous are they with scholarships (e.g. Transfers) If you are a student there how is it, if not, why did you choose not to attend. Is the student body friendly and is the campus comfortable? Thanks in advance!

Transfered from Nassau Community College (2years) with a 3.8 as a Civil Engineer Major.

Phi Theta Kappa*

Just a quick note to the board - - my son is now a sophomore at MC. He turned down RPI and Steven's for Manhattan and has never regretted his choice. If you love NYC and are looking for a solid engineering program, it is a great choice.

I'm interested in anything you know about MC. My son is seriously considering this school (we will visit in March). He is only a HS junior right now, so we still have another year to go. We do, however, have his first ACT scores (we are from the Midwest). Can anyone give us a ballpark as to what type of aid package he might expect? He has a 4.5 GPA and 31 on his ACT...

My son received a $9,000 per year Presidential scholarship. He has friends with higher SAT scores who received higher awards - - up to $16,000 per year.
If your son is interested in engineering, it is a great place, especially if he think he may remain the the NYC area.
RR

He is interested in Computer Engineering. Whether he would decide to remain in NY would remain to be seen. He is a HS junior right now, but starting to think about college. He would have to get a pretty good package to be able to afford Manhattan...I have no idea what scores will get what there.
