I got an e-mail today saying I got in and that I have to send the enrollment reply form in TWO days by fax. I thought that was a bit sudden. I heard people are notified late July. Did anyone else applying for the 3-year program get any e-mail at all regarding Ross? And why are they only giving me two days for this, as if I am not allowed to think about whether I want to pursue an honors concentration in economics? I've been checking my e-mail every day, and it did come today, not way before. Is this the real thing? I can't imagine this being spam. I would go insane. Thanks.

Also, the enrollment reply form says this: "Admission to Michigans Ross School of Business is granted for a specific term only. If you wish to be considered for a subsequent term, a new application must be submitted."

Does this mean I have to apply every semester or something?

i got in today too! i was sooooooooooooo surprised!

my friend from MSU got in! woo go blue!

HECK YEAH! I LOVE UMICH! i'm sooooooo happy!

Does it say that you have to fax it by this Friday?

redhare, that just means that if you're going to go into the program, you can only do it starting this upcoming year (your sophomore year i assume). if you wanted to wait another year and then start the program and stay an extra year in school, you'd have to reapply... so you cant defer your admission by a year or a semester or whatnot

yeah.. it says you have to fax it by 5pm frday. i wish i knew how much financial aid we were getting though. it's like 40k for out-of-state students :T

Yey! I got in as as well! Was everyone notified today??

niihla10, aren't you a current UM student? you also found out today?

Yes, I was a freshman last yr at LSA and will be beginning my 3yr bba program in the fall.

anybody get anything in the mail today? all i got was a hardcopy of the admissions letter.. that's it. just a single letter in an envelope. where's my t-shirt at!

Niihla.. what kind of stats did you have in your first year.. even im thinking about applying to ross in my sophmore year after doing econ at LSA during my fresmans.. is it true that you really need to be involved in many activities and also have a 3.5+ GPA to have a good app for ross ?

lampard,

You do need to be involved in activies, but pick things that you like to do and show commitment.

GPA ranges...I got in with a overall 3.343

3.1xxx first semester and a 3.5xxx second semester. For one of the essays I sorta gave a very brief and indirect explanation for why my GPA was low first and how I improved it.

I think what really helped me get in was a strong academic schedule and getting a B+ in Econ401 :o

can u elaborate on your schedule a little bit.. im planning to major in econ as well.. so what else did u take ?

lampard,

I had a 3.6 (i think a 3.6 is the average). But yes, ross is HUGE on extracirriculars/job experiences. And dont think by doing all the finance and business clubs, you can impress them. They really want someone dedicated in something, it doesnt really matter what.

So my GPA wasn't really impressive..just average but for me, I'm really big on volunteering. I did habitat for humanity, reach out (a mentoring program), student world assembly (secretary), and world service team (went to peru).

So yeah, my advice..dont sit in your room and study all day--you're better off getting involved!
