<p>TR8917, I guess Northeastern assumed your friend was using them as a safety. NEU is just so random. I have friends who've been waitlisted to Ivy League schools (Cornell & Columbia to be exact) get less merit aid than I did and I would never have gotten into any Ivy League based on my HS stats. I really don't see any method to the madness of some their decisions, both admissions and aid wise.</p>
