oh, my stats. Lots of ECs (see stats profile), 3.64 unweighted GPA with all honors and AP, 1310/1980 SAT, top 10% of class

You should hear something soon. My son received acceptance December 15 and scholarship info on Jan. 28th.

I applied regular decision and was accepted on a letter dated February 1st. There was no scholarship info in that letter. Based on the couple of posts prior to mine, I assume I will hear about scholarships a month or so from now. Anyway, what are my scholarship chances?

SATs: CR:740, W: 710, M: 620
GPA: don't know but not very high. I have some good grades and bad grades and I really don't have any upward or downward trends. My transcript probably appears to be strange to most admissions department (for example I made an A in AP European history but made an F in basic anatomy/physiology). It just depends on the class that I took when I took it. Let's say hypothetically a 3.0.
Course Load: IB diploma candidate, will have taken 7 IB courses, 7 AP tests by the time I graduate
Honors: AP scholar, awarded "superscholar" (top 100 PSAT scores in school district my sophomore year)
Other: 150+ hours community service, internships at radio station and film festival, President and numerous leadership positions of youth group, staff of literary magazine at school two years, partner of slideshow/video editing company

I have not yet applied for FAFSA. I wanted to at the beginning of January, and I was hoping my parents would get their act together and provide the necessary information. Unfortunately, they weren't able to do it quickly. Nevertheless, I have to apply no later than this Friday (Feb 15th) anyway because it is a deadline for a few of the schools I am looking at.

steelyboy, You should get some merit aid. My son was awarded 13,000/year 2 years ago. The thing to note with Hofstra is that they only meet 51% of financial need on average. If 13k good enough, then that is great. If someone is enticed by the merit award, and does not make the grade to keep it, then the gap is large for the average financial aid applicant.

I received a good scholarship, so I'm happy right now.

I got $16,000 a year, Fairly tempting

You maybe be getting 16K a year in scholarship money, but you're still paying another 24K out of pocket. It's a waste of time and money. Hofstra isn't worth it. I can't emphasize that enough. The professors aren't qualified and the students there just don't give a ****. You're better off in a public college. You'll only be paying less than 5K a year and you get the same damn degree. Anyway, with the kinds of grades you all have, you're better off going to Harvard not Hofstra.
