FAQ to Check Decision

I typed my Username and password and cannot connect to the site, what should I do?

The Office of College Admission sent you two separate email messages, both with the subject of “Your Brown Application”. The first email sent to you contained your username along with activation instructions and the second email contained your passkey. You should be using this username along with the password you selected when you activated your account with your initial passkey.

After I activated, I typed in my username and password but I get an authentication error?

Try resetting your password by using our automated online password reset. If you are presented with a security question which is blank, or you are unable to use this online method while using one of our supported browsers (Minimum recommendations are Firefox 3.6 and above or Internet Explorer 7 and above) then you must contact our CIS Help Desk at 401-863-4357, option 1. Please note that phone lines will be busy during this time of year. Please also note that, due to FERPA laws, we can only assist the applicant with account issues.

I guarantee you this means nothing more than that you will get a decision at 6pm on the 29th.

I know, I’m just surprised that they aren’t mailing letters this year. That must be a first.

I got this email as well. They sent a similar one out before the ED results came out.

Getting mine at 5 :)

… everyone got this email. At least, I suppose so. I mean, it doesn’t even address us by our names.

Interesting. People are being given different times to check their decision.
5, 6 and 7 pm EDT

I imagine that they’re staggering the times in hopes of theoretically lessening the strain on the server on next Thursday; of course, that’s assuming that everyone checks when they’re told to.

mine’s 7 PM

yes and I got 6 pm.

Does anyone think that the time correlates with the decisions? I know Case Western sent the admitted students their decision emails first.

^check out the RD applicant thread, BrownAlum gave a reason for the staggered time

Mine says 7
Maybe it has to do with last names? Mine starts with an r

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

Getting mine at 5.

I don’t think the different times have anything to do with our admission decisions, as that would be an incredibly stupid move; applicants would be able to deduce their respective decisions from their timings by comparing the stats of people of different times. Lol, I know that some people are probably already trying this, but I assure you that it’ll produce no fruitful predictions barring coincidences.

This has absolutely positively NOTHING to do with admissions decisions. Applicants in past years have discussed this to death, and there was no correlation to the time you got and your admission decision.

i am getting mine at 5
my last name starts with V

D gets hers at 7. I’m pretty sure that means she’s in :p

I get my admissions decision @ 6

@giterdone,
I’m pretty sure that time in which you receive the email has absolutely nothing with your decision.
