yeah i haven't gotten anything either. im dying!

I just emailed the admissions office asking what the heck the hold up is. I figure that they are waiting so long either because the rejection letters are taking a long time to make :(, or they are having to choose more people off the wait list :)

yeah i was told that by like late may or early june pretty much everyone would be accepted or 'released'. pomona is such a tease haha. i thought we'd know by last week! oh well. it would be worth the wait if i got in

One of my students received notice that she was off the waitlist today. So, they are sending out some notices. Good luck to everyone!

yea I sent an email yesterday asking about whether or not a decision has been made and i got this lovely generic email

"We are currently evaluating our wait list. Unfortunately, the waiting list does involve a lot of waiting. While we hope to admit students from the waiting list, this is completely dependent on how many students choose to matriculate at Pomona. Admitted students have until May 1 to send their deposits to Pomona. At that point, if there are any spots available in the freshman class, we may admit students from the waitlist. In late May or early June we will contact all waitlisted students regarding their status, and most of the students on the waitlist will be released to pursue college options elsewhere. Please remember to send in the blue waitlist card enclosed in your letter!"

too bad it's the 13th

yeah.. 'early june' could stretch till like june 15th haha. more than a month! but carolyn gives me hope hehe.

No answer yet! Well I guess it's ironic that I will be graduating #2 in my class tomorrow and I still can't definitively say where I am going to college. Guess high GPA's and ACT's don't mean everything.

An interesting bit from today's Wall Street Journal article on waitlists:

"Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., for instance, has lost four students because they were accepted from wait lists at Princeton, Harvard and Columbia universities. In turn, the school has taken 16 students from its own wait list."

chances are, this news means they're mostly done choosing students off their wait-list...unless some others decide to go elsewhere and get off the wait-lists of a different school. Oh well

Yeah I guess it's just time to move on to our college futures. I hope everyone is at least going to an instituition they can be happy at even if Pomona didn't turn out.

Quick piece of information, while other colleges around the country are reporting huge jumps in waitlist offers, Pomona actually went down one from last year taking only 17 as opposed to 18 in 2007.

i'm not moving on :)

Well, I've officially decided to give up on the wait-list for Pomona! The funny thing is, I've become so excited about the university I've chosen to attend that I couldn't think of attending any other school.

Good luck to the rest of you who are still hoping to get off the wait-list!

did anyone get a message from pomona today, saying that the class is full but if there's space, Pomona would like to offer you admission??? i'm just wondering how many people actually got that...

haha, nope didn't receive it.

Yes, I also received an e-mail and I truly hope they'll admit us :) Do you think the message was sent to all the students who wished to remain on the waiting list--as in sent in the blue postcard stating to remain on it? I have my fingers crossed and good luck everyone!

My son got one of those emails as well--I, also, wonder how many of them were sent out. I think he is getting tired of the waiting list situation however. Sad, as Pomona is such a dream--a dream that could, still, come true.

I'm one of the ones who got a letter saying that they won't be needing me anymore. Ah well, congrats to those of you who are getting in now :)

My son got the email too. He's moved on, though, and is very excited about the school he's enrolled in. I'm curious how many of the students remaining on the list would actually take the offer if it comes in July or August?

Hey guys I just thought I'd let you know that I withdrew from Pomona to go to Williams (I got off the waitlist there). So theres at least one more spot open.
