I'm entering Wash U this fall and going to be in art sci. I have gotten two email so far with the subject "Chemistry Recitation Description" from someone named Maria at the chem dept. at Wash U. There is nothing in the email, just an attached file: RecitationDescriptionsF09.pdf

Anyone know what this is or have any information to offer? Thanks.

bump
I’m in art sci and have recieved the same email

What’s your question? I’m a bit confused as to what you’re asking.

If this is a college thing that I’ve forgotten I had no clue about a year ago (ie I legit didn’t know problem sets were homework with a fancy name until I was a senior in high school, lol), chem recitations are an extra section of class led by a TA.
At WashU, they serve as review from class material, and are when quizzes are given.

There are also recitations in other classes- calc has them up to calc II. It’s how you manage to have to go to 4-5 hours of actual class a week, yet only get 3 credits for a class.

Maria (Littrell?) will be sending you a ton of emails in the next year with various gen chem information (typically about quiz and exam review sessions).
