Anyone go on the overnighter yet?

USD had their first overnighter dates last week and first day visit today. Did anyone go on either that would like to share thoughts? D enrolled but can't attend any dates due to being out of the country.

Also, does anyone know how roommates are paired up?

I went for the ME@USD overnight program. It was a great experience and I was lucky to have a great host. I believe the hosts are chosen at random. The overnight stay included a campus tour, 3 meals, sitting in on a class, and much more. All the students I met at USD were very friendly. The food is also terrific. If you can, you should definitely try to make it for an overnight visit. The best part about the program was the time one gets to spend with the host student. All of the hosts were very welcoming and willing to answer any questions about USD. Hope this helps.

Thanks halo. Is it still too close to home for you though?

My son went on the overnighter last week. Much like Halo, his experience was great. He really liked the kids that he met, both the current students as well as the EA campers. It was important for us to have him do the overnight because if he is going to go to school 3,000 miles away, we want to be sure that everything is a good fit. USD passed that test with flying colors.

Thanks, NHDad. Love to hear good reports from non-SoCal natives. Was it his first visit?

We did a short drive-by visit two years ago, but didn’t go on a tour or anything, so we wanted to really check it out.

Yeah, I think that’s the main reason it’s not my first choice. But, for someone not from San Diego, this school is incredible. And SD is one of the best college towns in the country.

just scheduled my overnighter! anyone else going on the 24th?

I am!.. do kids party on thursdays?

My daughter has USD as one of her top 3 now, even though we are from North San Diego County and my daughter strongly wants to go out of state for college. It is almost too good to resist! She is trying to decide between USD, Emerson, and University of Denver…She has visited all, and we are in a holding pattern waiting for all the financial info to make a final decision. Only USD has released FA decisions to us so far :(

It is 76, sunny, and gorgeous today in March! WHy would anyone want to leave here???
