Anyone Going on Overnight Visits

So I'm going to the Duke BSAI tomorrow. It like many other overnight opportunities for colleges requires you to bring a sleeping bag. I can't for the life of me figure out a way to carry a sleeping bag with me on the plane without looking like a weirdo. I'm trying to avoid having to check in my bag. Anyone have any suggestions? Or am I making too big a deal of this?

If you get a large enough suitcase, you might be able to slam the sleeping bag in there if you pack efficiently. But otherwise, I really don’t think it’s really weird. I always bring my sleeping bag when I have to travel north for my drum corps, and I don’t get any weird looks whenever I can’t get it to fit into my bag.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Even if a person does give you a peculiar look, don’t let it bother you.

I just went on a visit to Wash U and was able to fit all of my stuff including sleeping bag into a carry on. However if you can’t do that just carry it on, it’s honestly fine. I guarantee you no one will even give you a peculiar look and it may give you a subject to talk about on the plane when you explain that you are going on a college visit.
