I am just wondering if many people are going out of state to take the act on september. I am from new jersey and am was assigned to a stupid boarding school 2:30 hours away--the hill school. has anyome decided to go through the same thing?

I am going to take the act in another state but the test center is only 40 minutes from my house. :)

which state are you from and where are you going?

I am from northern Virginia and I will be going to Maryland.

going from central jersey to PA..about an hour and a half away

I will be going from New Haven,CT to Schuylkill Haven High School,PA.... about 4 hours away... The good thing is that my hindu temple is 15 minutes from the test center so it makes the trip worth it..

Th3strok3s, where in PA are you going?
_ I am from NJ also and will be going to pottstown; they did not have anthing closer. That is a 2:20 hours drive :-O!!!!!!

The Hill School is awesome. That's not entirely relevant but it's the truth.

jai6638, There had to be a nearer test center to your house, had it not?
I know in my case, I only got on further away because I applied somewhat late (aug 8). But If I had applied before I could go to temple univ. in philadelphia or wilkes-barre, both of which are under 1 2/3 hrs from my house.

WHat is so good about it? From what I know, we will be taking the test in the gymnasium. How is THAT awesome?????????

Yes there was ... But this way, I get to go to the temple after the test since its only 20 min away.. Also, I'm know the area well so my chances of getting lost are greatly reduced..

As silly as it may sound, I'd rather sit in a gym than a cramped up university lecture hall. I took my SAT at Yale and it was a really bad experience since there was not a lot of space.

Thanks! will you leave in the morning--as I am-- or are you going to PA the day before?

I am going to leave from new jersey 4:00 am and hope to get there by 7:30 or maybe less. This school is located in the middle of a forrest, so you never know. The area is very suburban and I may have to circle a few times to find it. GOod luck everyone!

I'm gonna stay in the area the night before. Need to get a good night's sleep. The last time I took my ACT, I was so sleepy so that it was kind of hard to concentrate...

mark19, i have 2 friends who attend hill. thats funny that you have to go that far just to take a test.

it is very funny indeed. So, are your friends going to take the act as well?

I'm staying in my state, but I still have to drive about 35 minutes... I could get out of state faster than that.

I'm going from New Haven, CT to Scranton, PA. A good 3 1/2 hour ride for me. Oh I should mention that this was the closest to my house, I think at least. Mapquest says so.

jai6638, I live in the same area and I will be going to that temple during this trip as well!

Oh cool! You a vaishnav too?

Columbialhopeful you definitely now what i am going through then.

columbiahopeful, what time are leaving for the test center? Lets hope everything goes wll for us and that the trip is worth it. One more thing, has anyone taken the act in a gymnasium? If so, how is it? I am imagining a noisy and crowded atmosphere. Is there a single proctor for the whole place?
