so here’s my story…

i applied for the regular decision with a 3.5 gpa for business administration (concentration in finance and marketing) and got rejected. i applied for the summer session with an improved gpa of 3.83 and still got rejected.

i recently visited cal poly and absolutely love it. what should i do? apply for the spring session and risk wasting another $55 or just go to cuesta for two years and transfer? does anyone know anything about cuesta? it’s hard to swallow the idea of going to community college after doing so much in high school (i.e. 4 years of elite gymnastics, 2 years captain, senior vp, community service, part-time job, clubs, honors/AP classes…). i guess i don’t really regret all of it, but it’s a little disheartening.

btw, i’ll be visiting stenner glen today to see how it is and possibly drop off a deposit. i hope it’s as good as it looks on the website!
p.s. i did read the article about the guy who died from alcohol poisoning in his room. that’s disturbing… i guess it was mostly from ghb? and his fraternity is no longer running. ahhhh i hope i don’t get that room!

Cuesta is a highly ranked community college--it has an excellent reputation. Do some research on the school.

I have heard that it is easier to transfer to Poly from Cuesta, but I don't know that for a fact.

thanks sloparent, that just makes me a little more relieved.

i guess stenner isn't accepting any students from cuesta because their schedule is strictly coinciding with the cal poly quarters, rather than cuesta's semesters. i signed up for mustang village I... it's really cute, but i hear it gets noisy? anyone know?

i stayed there for a weekend with a friend who, lives there. I didnt hear any unwanted noise, but there were people roaming around until early hours of the morning. But they werent noisy.

how does your friend like it? does she get along with her roommates? i guess they're choosing my roommates according to a survey i took. i'm just hoping i don't get stuck with someone i really don't enjoy being around.

Yea she loves Mustang village. The only problem she had was a few minor maintanence problems but it was all fixed quickly. Yes she did like her roommate. The apartment has a lot of space so they kinda just do thier own thing. I guess the only problem would be if like you are not a partier and your roomate is... or vice versa. I think if you are just calm and laid back about things, and realize that your roommate is going to probably not be on the same schedule as you everything will be fine
