Anyone going to Honors Orientation this Friday 2/23

My son was invited to attend the Honors college and there is a thing going on this friday. Anyone else going to this?

I would have been one of the students at the tables during lunch but my art history honors seminar is going to the Guggenheim, so I had to cancel. I can't recommend going to the honors days enough... if I hadn't gone, I wouldn't have considered Rutgers. You don't really realize what Rutgers is like unless you talk to current students and deans.

thanks for the feedback. My son has been to rutgers to visit and stayed overnight with a friend. I hope he finds tomorrow inspiring and informative

Is this for the Arts & Sciences honors program, or all of them?

arts and sciences, my son will major in math

so how did you find your visit?

I didn't go, but my son was impressed. he will be very satisfied to attend Rutgers as math/economics major. Now if they would only get scholarship/financial aid offer on the table, we would be even happier. I don't want him to get his hopes up only to find we can't afford for him to go! He's out of state so the COA is pushing 30K.

We're going to an honors arts and sciences program on 3/2. Can anyone who attended the one on 2/23 give us an idea of the day's program? what were your impressions, etc? Thanks

I'm one of the honors ambassadors, so I can give you an overview of what happens. First you're greeted by the honors deans, and then your child and you split up so to go to different panels. You can ask questions to current students at the panels. Then comes lunch, where there are students and professors seated at the tables (the tables are divided by academic interest). After lunch, they offer tours of different campuses and places of interest (i.e. The Human Genetics Institute or the Keck Center pairs with Busch and the Zimmerli Museum pairs with College Ave). You can also choose to take a tour of all the campuses on a bus.

I think that's most of it, I might be missing a small thing, but that's the general rundown.
