Anyone going to Howard or other HBCU’s? Post your stats and why you decided to attend one. Don’t turn this into an affirmative action thread! By the way, I am will be attending the Mecca (Howard University)!

<p>i dont know man. i got an academic scholarship to morehouse. but i might just go to georgia tech instead. engineering rules at tech, and it is literally a 2 minute walk to the AU center</p>

RANK: 3/108 :( lost my salutatorianship but who cares I'm going to HU)
MAJOR: International Business OR Physical Therapy
ACT/SAT: 26/1180
ECS: Class pres, SGA Pres, School website webmaster, dual-enrollment student (4.0 gpa), many summer programs..</p>

<p>I chose HU because it is a great school with a great business program in an amazing city with many opportunities to enjoy being young, intelligent and black. There are enough students that I won't get tired of the same faces and few enough that I won't feel like just another nine digit number.</p>

<p>Yea I'll be their on there on the 22nd too. I love Howard! It has a great reputation and the alumni base is awesome. In my county alone, the City Council President, Chief of Staff to the Mayor, Director of Recreations, County Director of Economic Development, Freeholder, and many more names that I don't want to bore you with all went to Howard. The school has a wealth of resources and people respect it. I will be majoring in political science and history. Threepointnineseven, are you the Legacy scholarship? I am hope I get it.</p>

<p>i want th laureate scholarship so badly but i doubt that i will get one because the requirements went up to 27/1200 and I only have 26/1180 :( IM me so we can talk at the preview day)</p>

<p>I just got the Legacy scholarship! I am so suprised. I have a 1170 and a 3.0 so you definitely qualify. I think that what got me the scholarship was my assertiveness in calling the scholarship coordinator. I explained my situtation and she had me write another essay which I nailed. I got the FedEx package yesterday. I am so happy! Yeah, definitetly IM me.</p>

<p>howard's a good school but I also hear a lot about how it's a party/fashion crazed school. But the positive factors outweigh the negative ones, so good luck to you all.</p>
