Trying to decide; it was announced so unobrusively on a postcard in the packet, unlike the hoopla at other schools

I'll be there on Friday but I can't make it on saturday which, incidentally, appears to be the day that everything is happening.

mhc48, Have you already received your acceptance packet? they sent by regular postal mail? thanks.

I wish I could go! Unfortunately, I am on the other side of the planet...

Please post your thoughts and feelings after seeing the campus and all!

Sosteve, you mean acceptance packet to Bard? It came on Friday. Or did you mean something special for this program (only a small postcard in the whole package).

mhc48, yep, the acceptance packet to Bard.
One of my firends got into Bard, but still havent received her acceptance letter via mail. She is anxious right now..

I didn't receive my acceptance letter via e-mail either -- or at least not an official one. I was informed by Mr. Robert Martin that I got in.

I recieved official acceptance via email, it was the same text that was on the letter that got mailed in, as far as an acceptance packet is concerned, all i got was an enrollment form and an acceptance letter

why is financial aid taking so long?

I was informed that they will email the fin aid letter within this week. I know it's not gonna be a good one for me, as I wasn't selected for the DSS scholarship!!!:(

well i know that the letters are being mailed out over the 4th and 5th (yesterday and today)

and for those letters to get to my country...it takes more than 8 days..So i better expect an email

I'm going! See you there.

I'll be there on Saturday.

Ive been to campus several times...so I can answer some questions for international students...if that would help. I have not received my decision letter yet...hopefully soon.

Jackman, do tell me more about your impression of Bard. I have read that its student body is pretty weird, though I've never really got a clear picture of what "weird" looks like here.

Not being a Bard student, I will tell you my impressions. The campus is very beautiful. There are many types of buildings, varying in shape and size. The campus is up on a raised geographic level overlooking the beautiful Hudson River and valley. There are many options for housing. You can live in an old Victorian house, modern building (called toasters), environmentally friendly buildings, old stone buildings..... Everything there as far as furniture and such is very nice and sort of artsy. As far as the "weirdness" of the students, you will find every kind of student there. They all very different and unique. Its the kind of place where you are guaranteed to see died hair, well combed hair, dreads, very messy hair (like mine) and many more unique and interesting styles. (I am using hair style as a sort of microcosm of the diversity of styles) Most of the people at Bard are either anti-conformity or don't really care, in my opinion. I think this is what brings about the "weird" description. I also think that there are a lot of people who at first may seem socially held back, but in my experience with these types of people, if you get to know them they can interesting beyond what one could imagine. I have also met several very outgoing people. From my experience, very few people at Bard are normal, nor do they seem to be the ones who are doing thing just to be different (in general). Many of the people at Bard seem to be truly unique and I think that many interesting people are attracted to the school for that reason. To be honest, I am not a student there, so this is only from hanging out with some Bard kids and walking around campus. If you are able to ask the question to a Bard student, take his/her description 100 times more valid than mine. But for the time being....I hope this helps a little.
