Anyone good with guessing? (PSAT & SAT)

Hey, I am a freshmen in high school and I wanted you guys (since many of you are so experienced) to predict what SAT score I and my friend would get in our junior or senior year.

First of all, we both thought we COMPLETELY bombed it, knowing absolutely no strategies and never experiencing 10th grader math problems etc...

I got a 1500/2400

Predictions?

My friend got a 1700/2400

Predictions?

ps. of course, these are PSAT scores

Also, share some of your (probably) 10th grade PSAT scores and what you guys got in the real SAT later on.

eh, those aren't too bad for freshman... depending on what courses you took this year. for example, i took geometry in freshman year while most of the stuff on the psat/sat is algebra ii, so yeah. i would've bombed it too, haha.

it's really difficult to predict what you'll get on your sat in junior/senior year :) you still have so much time to expand and improve! but my stats really show that psat doesn't do justice your actual (i actually thought psats were harder. lol. because of the lack of essay... and i excell at bsing essays!)

sophmore psat: 181
junior psat: 199
junior sats: 2200, first try ;)

but then again, between my psat and sat, i studied a helllluva lot!

Sophomore PSAT: 214
Junior PSAT: 236
SAT: 1520

freshman psat: 194
sophmore psat: 209
junior psat: 217 (plus Nat'l Merit finalist)

And then my old SAT junior year was 1590 (1600) and senior year new SAT 2330 (2400)

so yea my psat didnt predict well at all.

don't worry about freshman PSAT's at all...I think i got like a 145 or something but i ended up with a 2000 on my SAT's with just a little studying for the verbal.

there's a thread around here that has hundreds of users worth of psat/sat data. one user even did a sophisticated statistical analysis of it all. if you do a little searching, i bet you'll find it very interesting.

Oh, yeah, I need to comment.

I think the best preparation for the (P)SAT is a simple vocabulary list. Familiarizing yourself with some of those words can be very useful.

can u put the psats in terms out of 2400? i have no idea what u guys are talking about when u say 153.. or those 3 digit numbers.. i guess i took one of those prep SAT and not PSAT

153 = 1530 on the 2400 scale...Whenever you see a 3 digit number just add a 0 to the end.

Freshman PSAT- 189
Sophmore PSAT- 208
Junior PSAT- 226
Junior SAT- 2310

Thats with no studying in between; you will go up naturally

sophomore PSAT - 183
Junior SAT - 2030 (no prep)
Junior SAT - 2250 (with prep)

didn't take PSAT junior year

soph psat: 210
after summer prep
jr psat: 231
jr sat: 2300

soph psat: 130
junior psat: 180
junior sat: hopefully 2000
