sbuadmissions - is the next round still planned this week. I have not really heard that anyone got any acceptance/rejection letters this week yet? Today or tomorrow?

thanks

Probably tomorrow. :)

they asked me to fill out the eop form

Are u sure its tomorrow? and if so how can we find out on solar

nothing is definite but here is what the sbuadmissions person (Chris) posted last week

***
Next round of decisions next week, I’m told.

Chris ***

That was for the deny notifications that went out the other day. Don’t know about the next round of admits.

Chris

sbuadmissions- Do you mind letting us know when ever you find out about the next round of decisions?

I applied January 13th and I got my acceptance letter today.

I wonder why stony does this randomly? Isn’t stony rolling? shouldn’t people who apply earlier should get something earlier?

What I’ve figured out about rolling is that they still accept the obvious people (the ones with super-high grades and/or SAT scores first) and hold back on accepting people who are more in the middle of the range. It’s still probably faster than schools that have, say, a November 1 application date and tell everyone in February. But yeah, someone who is on the cusp isn’t going to get accepted just because they applied early. But the standard does go up later. People who might have been shoe-ins in August could get rejected if they apply in January. I’m talking generally because my daughter applied to several such schools, and she applied for most fairly early but is seeing people with similar stats get rejected now.

So it’s too late for you to do this, but if you have any siblings applying to college, tell them to do their applications in September if at all possible.

or maybe they just forgot about me? But i think its possible that my grades are on the cusp and i wont be able to get something until later. I might be wait listed =/. I have friends who got accepted already with over qualifying scores and rejections who got under qualifying grades. It always sucks to be in the middle lol. my app was complete since the beginning of December.

My son was not accepted in the initial batch and his SAT and grades were above quite a few white instate males who were accepted in the first round. So I don’t think not hearing yet means you aren’t accepted.

Accepted! Applied 1/15 and got my letter 2/8

GPA: 3.67 uw
ACT: 32
SAT II: Biology 750; US History 690
Major: Biology

This is making me really nervous now. lol.

@lilmelonred, dont worry… i applied in October and still haven’t heard back from them. im pretty shocked myself…

:) yeah lets just wait patiently.

I got accepted RD a week or two ago.

I am out of state and was invited to apply for STEM scholarships.

My stats if anyone is interested:
3.92 W GPA
1950 SAT 2400 (superscored)
1280 SAT 1600
I am taking only 1 AP this year but also an ECE course through UCONN.
I have leadership positions in some clubs and am in NHS.
I am also 1/8 minority, that may have helped.

@charlesmyboy, I also applied to SB in mid November for engineering and I haven’t gotten my decision letter yet but I also received an envelope with the STEM scholarship applications. I am also part of the minority which is why I got this.
I am also anxiously waiting for my letter, I have gotten my decisions from all the other SUNY schools that I applied to and just need to hear from SB. I got accepted to Binghamton so that always cheers me up. SB is my first choice and I a still waiting but I can’t blame the admissions officers since they receive 35,000+ applications a year.
My Stats are 1830 SAT (super scored) 680 Math 530 Reding
3.8 GPA 6 AP classes and a lot of ec’s
Everyone has to be patient I guess, everybody hang in there!

When is the next batch of acceptance coming out?
