I’m wondering the same thing about the Honors College. My older son got a 5K provost’s in 2010 and was told in the same letter that he was admitted to the Honors College. Just got younger son’s acceptance today, with 2,500 provost’s and no mention of Honors College. Younger son’s stats–740CR 730M 690W, 93 average, senior class president, lots of activities and volunteer work, 2 varsity sports (captain of 1). I assumed he wasn’t invited to the Honors College, but now I see that people who were higher ranked (with the 5k provost’s) didn’t receive anything either. Has anybody heard? This makes a difference for us as to whether UB is a consideration for him…

At the Presidential Scholarship interview, they said anybody who attended the interview was already accepted to the Honors College. However, my UB acceptance letter said nothing about the Honors College. Absolutely nothing. Very disorganized…

Son in with 2500/yr scholarship. 1310 SAT 3.6 GPA. I was surprised he would get a scholarship and not honors, but maybe that’s later since other posters got more $ and no honors.

I applied in November, still no word.

Completed:
SUNY Application sent to campus on 11/22/2012
SUNY Supplemental Application was sent to campus on 11/23/2012
SUNY Online Academic Record sent to campus on 11/28/2012

My son’s letter came yesterday. Does anyone know anything about the Daniel Acker Scholars Program? That’s what he was offered. Looks like a $5K merit scholarship a year…but I don’t know anything about the program.

Accepted as a Computer Science major w/ 5k/yr Provost Scholarship.

GPA: 3.6
ACT: 31
SAT: 1320/1940

Accepted.

They mail honors program acceptances a couple weeks after your admission letter. Calm down everyone.

Just received an email from UB stating

"Thank you for applying to the University at Buffalo. Due to the unusually large volume of applications we have received this year, the Office of Admissions is starting to send out decisions now and will continue for some time to come. The admissions committee will be reviewing your application soon. Please watch your email in case we need additional information from you as we make our decisions.

Your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your interest in UB!"

Hopefully some of us will hear from them this week. I nearly got a heart attack when I read “Due to the unusually large volume of applications we have received this year” because I thought I was going to get denied.

Accepted as an accounting major with 2.5k per year scholarship

GPA: 3.8
ACT:32
Didn’t take SAT

You guys got them today?

I got that email too what’s it supposed to mean? And it was from UB admit
Ughh this wait is killing me

people, today is president day.No Mail Delivered.

Buffalo should have a portal, so we don’t have to wait for mail. Most Suny’s have portals which is more convenient for the prospective student.

@motesh243 agree

I applied Nov 9th but I submitted my transcript after Early Decision… does that mean I’m not in the ED pile? Because I haven’t received my letter yet. Or is it because I live in NYC? Might I receive it sometime this week? I’m impatient. lol

I would say you missed the deadline because early decision letters were sent before 12/15. You needed to have your admissions materials submitted by 11/15 (it was 11/1 but they extended it to 11/15 because of Sandy) and have marked early decision on your application.

Oh, okay. I would’ve done that at the time but I wasn’t sure if I could to go to UB. (Parents didn’t really approve of me going upstate, but I convinced them.) Now it’s one of my top choices and really hoping I have a shot of getting in.

If there’s a portal, I never got a username or anything…

They don’t have a portal but you should have received an e-mail or letter with your UB Person Number.

I just got my acceptance but no scholarships…I don’t understand!!!

Do they tell you of the scholarships in the acceptance letter or is that separate?
