Anyone gotten likely letters yet?

I live in New York, around an hour by car from NYU. I didn't get anything though. I have so many things to look for in the mail lately. Dx

The invitations are little yellow postcard things, I believe.

I remember last year, running to the mail in search of that elusive post card for my D. It never came. Yes, she was accepted, but we pretty much had to wait until April 1 to find it out when her acceptance packet arrived. The packet didn't have an invite to the accepted students day either. I know D ended up RSVPing on-line.

I really don't think the postcard got lost in the mail because another accepted student from our town with her major didn't get it either. Probably it just wasn't sent! I think the acceptances for her major just went out last (and were probably made last) and that they never had the time to send the invites before the packets.

Btw, D is a vocal performance major in Steinhardt. Since it is an audition program, perhaps that had something to do with the delays.

But don't get discouraged yet. None of us know what is happening behind the scenes.

As a parent, I received the "Hey Parents, this why NYU is great for your kid" thing. Purely promotional...

Yup. All of the stuff they've sent to my mom is promotional.

Since they've announced they're beginning to send out invite, I'm going to be watching the mailbox like a hawk now. ;)

Hmm, I wonder when they're sending Stern invites?

I have not heard of anyone getting any invitations yet but they likely will soon. The invitations go out in different batches to different schools at NYU as each holds its own event for selected admitted students.

These truly DO look like invitations. They are not a postcard.

I'm a parent of a senior in Tisch.

And hey, Alex, I'm from Vermont too.

I hate that they send out everything in batches. I just want to know now......

For reference, I received my Stern invitation in between early/middle March last year. You guys should be getting them next week if you're accepted.

That's not necessarily true. I talked to the admissions department, they said they send out invitations and are still making decisions through the entire month of March. So some people won't hear until their admissions decision arrives around April 1st, others might already know. My brother goes to Steinhardt--I remember that he got an invitation around the second or third week of March, while a friend of his didn't find out until the very end.

@deep.
A country in South East Asia. Not wanting to go anymore specific, sorry.
But my friends have mails - hard copy acceptances. About 4 or 5 have received already from my school. Not any from Stern yet though.

percpaul, you're right. Not everyone gets these invitations to the events which are usually held during the first week of April. These are events for the top students and are an attempt by NYU to convince those students to accept the offer of admission that will be coming their way around April 1. Most kids who will eventually get an offer of admission will not be invited to these events.

I received a letter today from the College of Arts and Science inviting me to join the DEAN Scholars Program and the College's Presidential Honors Scholars Program. The first line read, "Congratulations! Your official offer of admission to the college of Arts and Science is on the way to you."

OMG I GOT INTO NYU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Congratulations on being selected as a DEAN's scholar at NYU! By now you should
have received a letter from the Dean of NYU's College of Arts and Science
notifying you of your selection and inviting you to participate in an overnight
program for our top scholars (March 28-29). You (and 70 others) were chosen from
among 21,000 students for your incredible depth as a thinker, a humanitarian,
and a changing agent within your school and community. Now, it's our turn to
show you how we can leverage those extraordinary gifts.

We're hoping to confirm your participation in the coming days. Once we know you
will be attending, there are a few specific questions I'd like to go over with
you so that we can arrange your travel to campus.

Of course, please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you, your
counselor, or parents/guardian have questions about this special event.

I literally started bawling when I got this email..................................... SO HAPPPPPPPY!

Hey EHS, do you know if the Dean Scholars has monetary compensation?

YOoooooooo i just got into Stern School of Business. Yeaaaaa Bwoiiiiiiii
