Anyone gotten the packet yet?

Got my packet today in CA. So if there’s no information about scholarships in the packet, does that indicate that we won’t be receiving any?

Nothing today in NYC! Ugh, I’m starting to get really scared. Come on, NYU is like 45 minutes from my house!

Nothing today in Philadelphia, thought for sure it would come today. Havent received any emails either. For some reason, dont have much anxiety for NYU, probably because USC has dragged on for so long.

i think they sent out the packets in order of the applicants’ distance from nyu
my hunch is they were actually pressed for time either because the Admissions Committee was running slow with making decisions, the AA’s were slow in processing the mailings, or the NY postal branches are slow this weekend (USPS has been making lay-offs lately)

so to make their April 1st deadline for all applicants, they sent out West Coast/Mountain areas first, then they sent out western Mid-West (iowa, missouri, etc) Fri. They probably sent IL, OH, MI, early on Monday, and the east coast was last you PA, NY, VA will get them last tomorrow or thursday.

as for the “DIDN’T GET THE EMIAL —> rejection ??” questions:
i posted on another forum about possible scenarios for this

I’m betting that it was a combo of these three things:

1) them using this year to test sending out notifications via email versus postal mail (as in they are considering switching to email notification next year)

2) They wanted to get the word out to certain applicants of certain schools (i.e. Stern)

3) They sent out early notification to any of the following: scholarship recipients, highly-qualified applicants they want to steer away from other competing schools (i.e Hopkins, Berkley, Illinois), and/or other applicants with special qualities courted by NYU.

basically, if you didn’t get the email, don’t worry about it - in my opinion. And if you live anywhere between Illinois/Mississippi and Pennsylvania/Tennessee and you haven’t received your letter, YOU WILL GET IT TOMORROW very likely - how exciting  !!!

I got it yesterday here in Georgia, and I applied to the CAS. I don’t know how much that helps, but there ya go :)

Thanks chorapanese, you’re dispelling a lot of people’s worries, especially my own.

I live in Georgia and applied to CAS as well and haven’t received anything : ( I hope I get it tomorrow…

I got mine today in Queens, NY

Jeez-o-Pete…STILL nothing here in the heartland. That financial packet determines if we REALLY go to admitted student’s weekend (booked a nonrefundable ticket today…hoping for the best). AND…leaving town Thursday midday so we REALLY need it by tomorrow!

Thanks chorapanese, interesting…
We all find out TOMORROW. Let’s keep fingers crossed

I live in Southern California and have not received any e-mail or packet yet.
According to Chorapanese’s logic does that mean I will most likely be rejected?

washington state got them today

I received mine today… I’m in Florida.

I heard its coming with the ivies? anyways nothing in jersey

still nothing in CA! Why have others gotten it here and we haven’t?? Are we the only ones? (Did receive the official acceptance email.)

maybe alphabetical order?

i 'm from tn. buti i have’t gottn anything from yet… but i knowtwo people who already got in…

I’m in Southern California, and have not received anything in the mail yet! I did receive the official acceptance via email though

…i got neither. just a notification email…is that a bad sign?
