Anyone gotten the second packet yet?

lol. i did the same thing. there are so many!

I'm confused, in the back of the course offerings' front page, where it offers all the different deadlines, it says the deadline for course selections is May 4. I don't understand, I just got the package today, am I missing something?

Peace

That applies to current freshman (those who will be sophomores next year).

got it....I knew something wasn't right..haha. Man, all these freakin forms are eroding my synapsis.
thanks

Still nothing in So Cal............has anyone else in California got their second package?

wow...I got it in Chile and you haven't yet in California?? That's just wrong...;)

"eroding my synapsis"

PERFECT description. My best friend is going to Princeton and I called him as soon as I got mine and I was like "I CAN'T DO THIS!!!!!!!!!"

But luckily we're doing them together, complete with chocolate milkshakes or something to make me happy. :)

if we already know who we want to room with, where should we put that info? In the "what more would you like us to know?" box?

You can't pick a roommate..unfortunately or fortunately? hmm

finally got mine today! geez i'm just in CT...is that so far away?!

Is there any way that you can end up in the same residential college as somebody else? My best friend (opposite sex) is going to Princeton next year...and we kind of want to be near each other. I know we can still see each other all the time even if we're in different colleges, but it would be nice.

I don't really think it's possible to request that though.

Unless you have special connections, it's blind luck.

Finally got it today in So Cal.................

Are your parents going with you to the first day of the orientation? My parents want come with me to Princeton the first day and help me get settled (yes, I have a Yidisheh mom), is that even possible? If so, how does that work? Are your parents going with you?

Peace

my parents are driving me there so I assume they'll be helping me move in that first day and stuff.

Do we move in the first day of orientation (like September 8)? I know that if you do a pre-orientation program you kind of "drop your stuff off" on September 1 or whenever, but then you don't actually technically move in until the 8th. Also, is everybody at Princeton from the 8th-16th, or is it just the freshmen?

Yea I think they let the parents stay - they even have a reception for them. I remember reading the schedule for last year's orientation and they actually put a time when the parents are supposed to leave.

A lot of folks have their parents come with them. Not a problem at all. Honestly, you won't have a car so it's really nice to have them there for Walmart/Target/whatever runs to get you settled in.

If you do OA or CA, you'll move in the day before your trip goes out (Saturday for OA, I think). I'm pretty sure that everyone else moves in the next Saturday. You won't actually sleep in your room, though (at least for OA). You'll probably camp out on a quad that night before you head out on the trip. By the way, it's considered a big faux pas to claim beds/set up your stuff if you get there a week early for OA or CA. Definitely wait until all of your roommates are there to start that stuff. Just put everything in a corner until you get back.

Most of the returning students will be back. They won't have anything they have to do though, so it's a fun week for them. You may be tempted to skip out on orientation activities because of this, but that makes you a bad person. And it's a bad first impression on the RCAs (of which I am one).

So, if I'm doing OA my parents should still probably go to Princeton on the 8th, since I won't be able to actually "settle in" before the 8th, right? (sorry for being so insistent, but my parents need to make flight reservations ASAP)
Thanks

Yoel

If you check the "Tigers '11" page on the Princeton website under OA it says that students can move their stuff in September 1st before leaving the next day. They've actually put a lot of great information up on the page so check it out. It is also a huge relief that for those on financial aid OA is free. My parents I were stressing about the cost.
