<p>"You need to enroll in College Writing 1A to satisfy the Subject A requirement if you have not already done so. Placement in this course, however, is by examination only. If you have not yet taken a Subject A exam, call (510) 642-5570 for the next exam date."
Student Profile:
"You are currently in the College of Letters and Science . Your class level is Junior with a major of Undeclared . You have not satisfied the American History requirement and the American Institutions requirement and the American Cultures requirement and the Subject A requirement . Please note that if you are a new undergraduate, this information may not be correct until you have finished your first term at Berkeley.. You are not on the Degree List for the FALL 07
semester."</p>
<p>I completed IGETC, but I have not had the certification sent to Cal yet. I don't know why I am classified as not meeting the College Writing 1A requirement. Isn't College Writing 1A is the first English class, writing composition, you take at a community college? I'm confused.
I know that I need to take one course at Cal to fulfill the American Cultures requirement, but what are the American History requirement and the American Institutions requirement? Does Cal has any single course that can be used to satisfy all these requirements? I didn't know that I need to take a lot of classes besides my major. Darn it.
Anyone has any idea about this?</p>
<p>I'm taking a history course over summer to fulfill that requirement... I would go to assist.org select your cc then select UC Berk and then select Info >> academic institute yada yada... same with Info >> History stuff.</p>
<p>That sums it up. Here are a few links I have bookmarked.</p>
<p>oops... it's on my laptop. It's link on Graduation Requirement on Berkeley... also you can take a math test at Berkeley to satisfy their math stuff... because even ifyou complete IGETC berkeley has a higher requirement for math.</p>
<p>its just becasue they dont have your transcripts processed yet, so they have an auto message saying that, when your transcripts are entered those messages will dissapear I think. (assuming you did the equivilent of some of those courses elsewhere.)</p>
<p>has anybody going to Cal already had their cc transcripts & IGETC cert sent yet? They had mine for over two weeks and it's still under review. It's starting to make me nervous.</p>
<p>Thanks for your info Rogue. I'm a math major, so probably I don't have to take a math test.
The thing is that I took 2 history courses already and I don't want to take a third one. There are a few changes in the IGETC pattern which kinda makes me confused about my situation. I had Asian American History and Women's History. I didn't take American History, and some friends told me that I took the wrong course.
Hopefully, what you said is right niggit. I don't want to take another composition class.
I just request my IGETC cert to be sent today luvtoolearn. Guess I have to wait and see.</p>
