The article gave kind of a step by step of how early action applications are reviewed by the admissions officers. I think it was from the Boston Globe.

Thanks

you can access the BostoGlobe archives via boston.com - if the article is more than a week or so old, you may have to pay for it

I was interested in the same thing, too.

This one? (You have to pay for it)

or use google's cache ;)

Hm. That seems faintly illegal. Cool though.

Thanks for that article (very interesting) but sadly, that is not the one :(

The one I'm talking about detailed every portion of the evaluation process. In the first step, a lot of the applications were thrown away if they knew for sure that they weren't going to be admitted. Later on, each application is presented to the admissions committee (30 adcoms) and they vote on whether to accept the student or not. This is just a little summary, but it had a lot of interesting details.

I know what you were referring to, but I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, a different one I found is rather interesting:

Only time I'll bring this up.

I found this in Boston Magazine:

I have a question for Northstarmom or any other Harvard legacy. What happens to those who have to work 30 hours a week and have missed months and months of school (3 this year, in my case--junior) because of an illness and were unable to participate in many ECs and athletic events? Also, I live in the middle of South Dakota where the ECS are very limited. I'm a very unusual case... You can tell from reading some of my previous posts.

--- I only ask this because it says they rate your ECS and Athletics as well as personal character and academics.

wow...that article depressed me...15% acceptees dont have a leg up during the admissions process.
