Anyone have a night terror?

Haven't had any night terrors, but I have had that weird feeling right before falling asleep that I was about to fall off the bed. So I end up trying to regain my balance when I was lying perfectly fine.

I sleepwalked once. I have no idea what brought it on, but it was only once.

You would think that i got over this night terror thing last night. but no, i'm still thinking about it tonight!

gians
did it work...??? i mean 'seducing the evil'. :D

well, i'm still kinda iffy about that idea. i think it should be a last resort :D

i fell asleep when i was just too tired to keep my eyes open. someone had to go into my room to turn the lights off and turn on the lampshade, long after i was asleep.

I've exp'd sleep paralysis before. Similar shadowy figure and my being possessed and floating.

i think i've experienced sleep paralysis before, but mine was somewhat different so i'm not sure. basically something (not sure if it was a spirit or not) came into my room and started attacking me. in my dream, i told myself "this is a dream, wake up NOW!!" but i couldn't. i started yelling for my mom as loud as i could, but in reality, no sound was coming out. my mind was conscious and i was controlling my thoughts, but i couldnt move at all. now i'm not sure if this constitutes as sleep paralysis because i don't know whether i was awake or not; however, i do know my mind was awake and i was seeing my room (whether in a dream or not) while silently yelling and not being able to move.

i've had that a couple times, though not in the past few years, thankfully!

mine took place in the tv room/den

i was sitting on the couch and it was as if i was tied down to the sofa..but there was nothing there.. and i couldnt speak

so u guys think it might be a ghost? ^^^

I suppose the "choking" feeling comes from the limited respiration happening while you're sleeping - suddenly you wake up and it doesn't seem like you're getting enough air.

seriously, i'm terrified of going to sleep now. it's now 2:45 am, and i'm still up! why does sleep paralysis have to be associated with evil presence??

Awww Gian! We should definitely start a support group for people who are creeped out by everything. But I would definitely pwn you in creeped-out-ness.

I started having night terrors (well, more like sleep paralysis. I haven't had the "evil presence" part, thank goodness) last year. It freaked me out so much the first time I had one. I was conscious and it seemed like I was awake, but I couldn't move or shout or wake up or anything.

Now I get them sporadically. Like sometimes I'll have multiple ones in one night (they usually happen when I'm on the verge of falling asleep or waking up), and then I'll have stretches of several months where I won't get any.

i get the falling dream a lot. but i really like the feeling, though i don't realize it when i'm dreaming

Thechiiguin - I would seriously get that checked out if I were you, multiple times a night seems a little to much for comfort.

my dreams always end with me falling. falling down the stairs, in a trench, in a river, even the bathtub.

i don't know about shadowy things but i'll admit that Barbie Dolls give me the creeps. they just sit there and stare at nothing with that freeze smiles on their faces and.. bah. whatever.

I dream in black and white...

I've never had nightmares. In the worst cases I dreamed I'm chased by a Cyclops or bogeyman, and then die heroically as I plunged the knife into the gut of the alien who dared to invade my Chinese school (and I don't even go to Chinese school...) but those felt more like along the adventure vein than horror.

However, I was unnerved when I dreamt that I got 1s on my AP exams last summer.

i always dream of going down steps, and falling, and when i try to put my foot down to regain balance, i just kick in my sleep and wake up, my heart thudding.

Me too! I do that with walking and tripping up on a stone. Also, when Im about to grab a fork to eat and i grab air.

Omg I had the choking dream too. This woman tried to choke me and I was like "WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!!!!" Like, I knew it was a dream but I couldnt wake up. I couldnt open my eyes. And I was paralysed in the dream. I tried to make some sound and finally i made a gurgling sound which made me wake up. After the dream, I couldnt move my body for 1.5min. I tried to move my finger but it was so hard!
My bed was full of sweat.

I also have triple dreams. Where I wake up from a dream, think it's the normal world, and I do my stuff, and something horrible happens. Then I wake up again (also a dream) and I think that it was a double dream, and something horrible appears again and I finally wake up in the normal world. And then I get all suspecious that it's my dream world. Those are the worst..

omg you people are bunch of weirdo scaredy cats :)
