<p>There has been no grade deflation at Swarthmore. It is a very demanding school. The students demand a lot from their professors and demand that their professors demand a lot from them. But, the grading is not all that out of the ordinary. The average GPA was reported as s 3.24 a few years back. </p>
<p>Fifteen percent of the graduating class this year was named to Phi Beta Kappa. A 3.7 GPA didn't make the cut. Word on the street was that it took a 3.75 average.</p>
