Anyone have some advice on GPA, AP Lang, UC?

Hello all! I am in need of some guidance regarding my class schedules. Please respond ASAP as school ends next week, so I would need to fix my schedule this week.
I am currently a sophomore and am not overly smart as you can probably tell by my schedules. So right now I am thinking of taking AP Language and Composition, but am worried about my GPA. The class apparently improves your writing a lot, however most, if not all, students get Cs-Bs. No one really gets an A. Based on my accumulative GPA so far, would taking AP Lang&Comp be more hurtful to my chances at being accepted into UC Davis or UC Santa Barbara?
I am trying to be a veterinarian, physical therapist, or teacher in South Korea. Any advice or tips would be helpful.
Side question: If I took an AP class but did not take the AP exam, do colleges count it as a regular class?

heyyyyy! I’m a sophomore too! So at my school we take AP Lang, Honors Lang, or Regular Lang junior year. I’m taking AP Lang. Most people find it challenging but I think we just have good teachers or something because most people still manage an A or a B. But that’s just from talking to my junior friends.

Colleges would rather you take APs and get a B than take regular/honors and get an A (not really sure, but can anyone back me up?)

UCSB and UC Davis aren’t particularly hard to get in. Actually not hard at all if you are IN state. (Are you in state?)

OMGGG! I wanted to be a Eng teacher in Korea for the longest time and I researched a bunch about it, so I have a few tips for you! Being an Eng teacher in Korea is a REALLY good choice. It’s better than being a vet or PT (physical therapist) in Korea. First of all, the school usually pays for your living expenses. Either all or at LEAST partial. Secondly, they are really flexible and although they aren’t the highest paying jobs, you don’t need to spend money on living expenses! (including maintenance bills!)

It’s really not hard to become a teacher in Korea. You just need a degree from a four year college. My sister wants to either be a vet or a PT and let’s just say is harder to get into vet school than it is medical school. And PT isn’t very hard, but being an OT (occupational therapist) is a better route since it has higher pay and a more open job market.

If you take an AP class and didn’t take the exam isn’t as big of a deal if you are also taking a ton of other APs. But I would take the exam and at least aim for a 3, which is an acceptable score.

Oh! I think your extracurriculars are solid. Just stick with them and be really good at them!

Hope that helped a bit!

oh and since your username is munchlax04, do you by any chance play lacrosse?? Haha if so I do too!

@jumpingstar‌ Thank you for your advice! I do live in-state.
Yeah, I’ve been a bit obsessed with teaching in Korea for a while now; it seems really cool and for the most part include positive experiences. The only thing I worry about is what to do after my teaching contract in Korea ends in Korea, like do you resume your regular American life? Ah but that’s a question for sometime way in the future.
And my username is more pokemon related than lacrosse, I actually know nothing about that sport, but I did use to want to play it.
