I kinda feel the same way as I’m an economics major with an accounting minor. But there are some days I wish I choose engineering, but as I’m applying this year I rather not stay at a CCC any longer plus I do really enjoy economics.

Big time. I was initially going to apply to all schools as an Econ major. But, I’ve always known that I want to go onto a Master in Urban Planning program after undergrad. So to me, it would seem to make more sense to apply as an Environmental Economics and Policy major at UCB, and a Urban and Regional Planning major at UCSD. I will still probably apply as an Econ major at UCLA regardless. I think any three of these majors gives me a great shot at getting into a solid masters program. Also, 50% of applicants to EEP at Berkeley in the College of Natural Resources got accepted last year.

I went through the same dilemma and even finished IGETC for econ, but ultimately decided to stay the extra year to major in engineering.

That extra year ended up going by FAST too… just remember an extra year at your CC pales in comparison to an entire lifetime of a career you ‘settled’ for.

English major here, yea i had some serious doubts last semester about my major choice, and was slightly depressed and apathetic for a while. However, I snapped out of it and I have full confidence in my major. It’s what I love.

Can you say that for yourself about philosophy? Or did you kinda just pick philosophy off the list because it sounded nice? I honestly believe that everyone should study/do what they are passionate about.

Though, you should also keep in mind that english and film degree’s don’t necessarily open a ton of doors. But I think if your creative it’s definitely worth pursuing.

Most English, Poli Sci, Philosophy majors end up applying to Law School during their 4th year anyway. If Law is part of your plan, you have no reason to change your major.
