I applied Early Decision back in November, sent in my portfolio pieces a few weeks ago, and had my phone interview last Tuesday. Has anyone heard anything else from the film school?

Also, when does scholarship information come out? With the acceptance letter, or later?

I got my packet and I'm accepted :) 15,000 Provost scholarship too as well and the financial aid person told me I had a grant and would be pleased. We'll see what that means when my aid package comes.

I JUST GOT MY ACCEPTANCE BY EMAIL TODAY!!!! :D

Congratulations and welcome to Chapman University! I am so pleased to tell you that you have been admitted to the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts for the class of 2010!

My daughter called yesterday and was told that due to "an unexpected surge of applications" they might not have all the responses out until the week of the 10th.

Last night at nearly 10:00 p.m. she received her acceptance email.

It wasn't with my acceptance letter, but I received it the day after (which was yesterday, 4/5/06). I'm just glad they're quick with the financial aid unlike other colleges I was accepted to.

I was just admitted to the film school as a Film Production major and was wondering if people in this forum (although biased) believe that it would be worthwhile to go to a dedicated film school over a liberal arts one (Occidental). Seems like it'll be a life-altering decision... Any help?

All I can say is: If you have to ask yourself whether you want to take the risk and go all Film, you won't survive.

I'm serious... I'm going into Film knowing that the odds are I will end up crushed. But I made the decision a long time ago that this is what I want to do, and I'm going to stick to that decision. If you're wary and all about doing Film, if you don't have enough passion for filmmaking that you are not willing to take the risk, I suggest you don't do it.

But if you choose to go to Chapman, great! I'll be seeing you there this fall. :D
