when are we supposed to find out?

According to the website (good job checking it by the way), "The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners, and notify them in writing, around May 15, 2008. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.) :D

omg...at may....thats so far away...

Local judging is only officially over tomorrow. You can check their FAQ for a complete schedule.

Yes, we did. My son recieved a letter from te local lodge, informing he is now to the " next judging plateau". No bucks yet. We will be " informed of the progress of your application later on"

Everyone who successfully submitted their applications (or whose applications were "perfect in every aspect," as my email said) has theirs forwarded to the state level. You should have got an email. This is for Most Valuable Student, so I don't know if there was another one. If so, ignore what I just said.

My D also got the "next plateau" letter. It's the same letter her sister got two years ago, and the older sister wound up with a scholarship from the local lodge. Not sure however, if the same letter this year comes with any scholarship funds.
