hey, the website didn't really disappear:
http://www.campbellsdreams.com/default.aspx
it just says to stay tuned: winners will be notified in January 2005

I bet it will be late jan. Only assuming this b/c they are announcing winners on air sometime in feb.

that is so weird. gypsymoth, when I tried to get on the campbells dreams website, I got redirected to another website.

see,

www.campbellsdreams.com

I suspect they were overwhelmed with applications. And if they're actually reading all of the essays, it may be the end of Jan. Good luck everyone.

vtoodler, the URL has to have default.aspx at the end: try http://www.campbellsdreams.com/default.aspx instead of just www.campbellsdreams.com

My guidance director just put a scholarship update up in our school and on the American Dreams part it says that winners would be notified by the 17th.

Good to hear, I was getting worried. I entered at the end of the deadline, I just hope that they put something on the website or something.

seriously-not even ONE college confidentialer has heard about at least semifinalist???

syawn- well, no. definitely not if they havent even started notifying them yet. lol.

if semifinalists should hear by Jan. 17, then tomorrow must be the last day...

are they notifying non-semifinalists before January 17 also? or if we get no reply, do we assume that we haven't made it?

silly me... forgetting dates

nvm; monday's the last day to hear from campbells. still, does no notification = losing?

I would think they would at least let us know if we didn't make it by email or something. I hope I don't have to worry about that, but I don't want to be left hangin.

tens of thousands of people applied to this contest. it was advertised everywhere - in schools, grocery stores, even on the back of the soup cans. there is a very low likelihood that out of the thousands of applicants, one of the winners happens to be on this message board...

Well. Semi-finaist, perhaps. :) You never know.

You know, for the month or so after I submitted my essay, it went completely out of my mind, until I found this thread. Now I'm checking my email/this thread every day for news. 8/

tens of thousands? you really think that many people applied?

I wouldn't doubt it. For the elks scholarship, over 14,000 applications were recieved last year.

I know where I live, alot of people just weren't interested for whatever stupid reason. I hope it was that way everywhere!

Hey, how many people do you guys know that entered? No one but me from our school, or course, there are only 52, so that makes a difference, but how many from your's?

i was the only one out of like 3,000

i don't know anyone else who applied from my area...
