Has anyone received a decision from their UCLA appeal yet? We're still waiting.....

I’m still waiting :[ The anxiety’s really getting to me!

My friend’s appeal didn’t go through, still rejected.

his Stats:
2200 SAT and 3.87 UNWEIGHTED with many meaningful extracuri. He’s iranian btw

^ what difference does it make if hes iranian? unless hes out of state then it doesnt matter

My friend heard back on Friday last week, and he got in. Now he has to decide whether to go or not

TheBlackLantern

first : iran is a muslim country, so people living there are muslim…not a jewish or a christian…everybody knows that colleges wont give the big slice to muslims.

second : they are really not caucasian, black or hispanic. very different looking.

third : their culture is different. women cant wear bikini and even walk freely on the streets. some of them may have adaptation problems…and this will affect not only them but us.

schools have to find open-minded people…maybe you call this problem as a diversity…but this cant be a diversity because people may suffer from these kind of things…diversity is logical as long as you keep the balance.

lol is that a joke? ^^

Wow @ Furkank.

not a joke, just truth easy to find/google :)

aww i finally got my appeal back. UCLA rejected me again It’s all good though.

really estheri? if what you’re saying is true, then this would be like the first acceptance i’ve heard of.

Estheri–

Why on earth would he appeal if he wasn’t absolutely certain he would go there? seems almost disingenuous.

Those in admissions know that a student may want to go to several schools and that they may be successful at any one of them. So, if they put in some appeals process that gets students to, in effect, say ‘you’re the only girl for me’ they get disingenuous replies because the process is disingenous.

Fear can lead to a lot of things that people may not condone. For me that includes colleges that put 1,800+ students on a wait list when history shows they take well under 50. What goes around comes around.

Putting students on a waitlist is one thing, as well as accepting a spot on a waitlist, but an appeal to me is almost like binding ED, even more; like you are ‘begging’ to get in since its absolutely your top choice, and you are quite distraught that you did not get in. I should know, I got into my #1 only through appeal :-)

Mine is still under review. =/

It’s true, and don’t kill the messenger. I don’t agree with what he did either. Just telling you guys so you know what’s happening.

i’m still waiting too =/ i’m expecting to hear this week.

@cbd

I thought UC appeal was only for information or circumstances that hadn’t been considered during the original admissions process. I don’t see how it relates to begging when the whole appeal is based off of the idea that you didn’t really get fair consideration in the first place.

How can we know if UCLA recieved our appeal yet since the decision site just shows the old decision. I am confused if they have recieved my appeal?

Iran means land of the Aryans. Of course they’re white. FURKANK, I can’t think of a nice way to say that your comment is ignorant and stupid.
