This is quite interesting. I could have guessed that the process is random to some degree. It makes sense, but it still is upsetting that you have to be lucky (though I might feel different if I get in).

This is slightly depressing. “There’s a year to be a runner, a year to be a lacrosse player, and a year to play the piccolo but the candidate doesn’t know that”

Haha what a brutal process.

^^^ It’s the equivalent of casting a theatrical production. There’s a cast in which to be a romantic lead, a show in which to be a soprano, a production in which to be a short guy who looks younger than his classmates . . . You get cast if you fit the role - not on the objective basis of how good an actor you are.

IF YOU ARE ACCEPTED, DO NOT DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

[msnbc.com Video Player](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/42336207#42336207)

^ holy crap

I loved hearing this, how they classified an applicant as “SP31”, and he would have been waitlisted if he wasn’t and accepted since he is an SP31 applicant.

HAHAHA that video is so hilarious, I heard her say “pistol whip her mother” and LMAO’ed!

There goes her acceptance’s to the ivy league schools!

This type of crazy **** only happens in Florida.

@gadad: It’s a good analogy except the major factor that in a production, the director notifies the people trying to get the role what he/she is looking for, be it the very subject of the play or directly stating it when they get up to perform. In the college application process, your playbill is completely blank and the director only stares at you.
