I called wells admissions yeterday and they said letters went out. Post what happens!!!! I haven't gotten mine yet but am anxiously waiting (and pacing and stalking the mailman)!

West coast might not hear until Wednesday.

Wellesley College Class of '09

our color is green

I was deferred. I live in the NYC area, too. Well, the best of luck to all other contributers. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the best plan of action for me, comments would be appreciated.

From the Stanford (aka, Stany Stan) Board - both schools are finding out over the next few days, and I just want to wish you all the best of luck!

A special shout out to SkepticalSeniorNYC, one of the coolest people ever who you should all hang out with next year, whether seeing her in the dorms as a wellesley '09er, or visiting her there on a free weekend. i know i'll miss her next year!

Snoozle did they give you any indication of what they were looking for? A different SAT score or better grades? I heard Wellesley rejected people outright if they didn't think they were worthy of consideration. Good Luck. Do you have any idea how many deferments or acceptances there were this year?

Hey everyone. I'm from New York. And i got in Early Decision, i found out yesterday. Has anyone else found out yet?? I'm soo excited. Yay class of 2009!

oh yea, there were 118 acceptances early decision.

Hey Hannah! Looks like we'll be classmates! I'm so excited!

I've been deferred... any suggestions on what i should do now?

I've heard that if you're defered its a good idea to either call or email admissions and ask if there is anything you can add to your application to make you stand out more and would help in the process.

To all who've been accepted ED, congratulations! And welcome to Wellesley :D

Oh, by the way, I'm a first year Wellesley student. And I just want to console those of you who've been deferred-- it's not the end of the world! One of my good friends here was deferred when she applied ED. She was devastated because Wellesley was her first choice college. However, she ended up getting accpeted regular decision. I hope this helps. Keep in contact with the school, show your interest for Wellesley. I can't hurt at all.

Many may not get into their first choice school, but I guarantee that almost all of you will be happy at whichever school you go too.

Oh, to those who're wondering what to do next, I suggest looking at Smith and Mount Holyoke if you like Wellesley. Both those colleges are excellent. I loved Smith when I visited and they are very generous with financial aid.

Good luck!

my bff just got her acceptance letter yesterday!! actually there are two --- they are twins, both want to go here so much, its there #1. one twin got in, but the other hasn't gotten a letter yet!! isnt that cruel?!

Any chance those twins are co-presidents of their student council? because my letter read that my new classmates include "twin sisters who are co-presidenst of their student council"...

thanks Mr B., i think i'll call the admissions office on monday. i was given no indication of why i was deferred. I have looked at Smith and Mount Holyoke, and liked Holyoke a lot. However, i also looked at Colby (very different, yes, i know!) and really liked it there. So now i'm left with the decision ED2 to colby or stick it out and wait for wellesley. The statistics on acceptances of deferred students from wellesley is 25% which is exceptionally high compared to the Ivys (5%) and similar institutions. Congradulations to skepticalsenior and hannahbanana; and margaux- i empathize!

also, and i apologize for posting two consecutive comments- would it be too much trouble to ask one of the accepted students what their letter read? they sound interesting!

actually they just showed me their letter today and didnt tell me they were mentioned in the letter. and yes they both got in. and yes they are student counsel co-presidents. and yes they are my best friends. WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!

they so better bring me to some of those mit frat parties ;-). i'm a notre dame girl myself.

congrats on notre dame! do they post on CC? i want to make friends!

congrats on notre dame! do they post on CC? i want to make friends! And actually, my friend at Harvard says that he goes to those MIT frats too...apparently that's where the fun is...go figure. I certaintly wouln't have thought that:)
