have received scholarship awards from all other schools applied to---Villanova is the only one who hasn't offered anything--at least to date.

Has anyone else received notification of scholarship? (Other than Presidential)

nothing for me yet...

That wouldn't be heard about until acceptance letters are sent out though, right?

No money yet, just an application for Honors Program came Friday. EA accepted.

if you don't mind me asking, tymeflysby, what were your stats?

Anyone get any scholarship info yet? I got my acceptance letter on Saturday, and it didn't say anything in there.
I'm going to need some big scholarship to pay $50125 a year, after I received basically no financial aid :P

Some people's aid info is already up on Novasis, if all requirements have been fulfilled. Have you checked that? So far, most posters' EFCs have not been met by a few thousand. A couple have been, though. Check on other FA threads on this board. Good luck!

I got a 3000/yr villanova scholarship... it was listed on novasis with the rest of my aid package (loans/financning option).

I was a presidential semifinalist and also got the $3000. Also got another $14,000+ in grants. LOTS left to finance!

My son's stats

ACT 31
SAT 2060
Reading 690; Math 700; Writing 670
SAT II
US History 680; Biology 720; Physics 720
Attends NYC Specialized HS

My daughter was accepted as a commuter student and she was offered a $15K Commuter Scholarship for next year ($7500 each semester). No letter yet, just what's on Novasis. She applied as a commuter, knowing that this scholarship existed and that she was qualified for it. I seriously doubt that she would have been offered anything near that amount if she had decided to live on campus.

so am i correct that the money people are receiving is NOT need based aid? (it's merit aid?)

I got like 1,375 or something (too lazy to check the exact amount) through the VU grant, plus some fed work study, but that's it. that link should provide you with some info on how they determine the recipients.

Don't know about aid here. Seems only the very rich/very poor can go. All of us middle incomers didn't have the EFC met. Other institutions were much more generous. Has anyone gotten some good money?

My son was offered a merit scholarship of $2000 per year, plus a $3500 loan. That's it. This hardly takes the edge off the high cost of tuition. He is currently applying for Honors and Global Citizen, but if they don't offer him that, I think he is inclined to accept his admission to NYU Stern.

on long island..today received scholarship offer of 2 grand a year..if that helps

Between Fed Sub loan, Nova grant, Nova scholarship and work study son got abt 16,000....Would have to pay 34,000....which is still higher then my EFC

Yes, so far only ONE poster has had their EFC met. What is up with that?

i got $3k in merit--whats average merit aid? because i was expecting more with a 34/3.93....and since i got $16k from lafayette

CK2308, I'm in the same boat. I was at the Admissions Office yesterday and they said that the Villanova Scholarships range from 1-8k a year. Hard to believe that's true since it seems like nobody on this board got above 4k in merit-based aid, and we all seem to be fairly well-off academic-wise.
