Anyone heard back from Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship?

It said that “Scholarship Recipients Notified: April 3, 2017” but I still have not receive either a rejection or an acceptance. Anyone received anything?

I haven’t heard anything yet. Where did you see that @williams2021

I haven’t heard anything either. Where did you see that date?

I checked their FB page and nothing has been posted since February but I figure they must have notified finalists by now because their awards banquet is usually early to mid May. It was a long shot in my opinion since they have tended towards students in the area near Auburn U in the past.

@QMusic @countolaf From the scholarship’s “Need Help” section on Applyists

@williams2021 are you planning on emailing them to confirm that the notification date hasn’t slid? It would be nice to know something.

@williams2021 I saw this on the Foundation website under the scholarship questions section: “Awardees are notified personally, by phone in mid-April. All other applicants are notified by email.” Who knows which message is more accurate. I guess we will see. Either way good luck to you.

I got that email that I didn’t get the award. Oh well, I hope you guys got the phone call.

@QMusic When did you get it and what did it say?

I actually just checked my spam folder and the rejection was there. It was a long shot in my opinion considering the geographic awardee tendencies of this one. Good luck on the others.

Didn’t get it!

Wait, what are the geographic tendencies of this scholarship? I’m from Virginia!

@aw2021 based on what I saw of previous recipients there were a significant number from Deep South or more in the Gulf Coast area. I’m in NC and there might have been one or two that I saw from previous. I know many supposed national scholarships that are not “truly” national and have geographic preferences. It felt like this was one of them. Could be wrong but that was my gut feeling.
