We need to make plans for visits and it’s getting down to the wire.
Has anyone heard results yet?
We need to make plans for visits and it’s getting down to the wire.
Has anyone heard results yet?
Nope. I thought calls would have went out by now. I’m hoping someone posts when they hear or that letters come soon!
I thought they said mid to late March.
I believe my friend’s daughter has been accepted, but she was notified before the regular notification date.
My daughter was accepted academically but we havn’t heard from dance depafrtmenment yet. This is so nerve racking!!
In another post I saw that someone said their daughter was asked for an interview after the Pace dance audition. Is that what they do? I thought they prescreen you and then you audition and everyone leaves. Does this mean only 4 kids from the audition have a chance?
Early decision?
Yes, there were four or five held after each audition for a quick interview. I don’t think that means they will automatically be accepted though.
Yes.
What’s weird is we received a package in the mail today outlining the financial aid my daughter has been awarded. But we don’t know if she’s been accepted into her major??
@dancemome we received another financial aid mailing last week. Even if your dancer isn’t accepted into the dance major, they can still attend pace for an academic. If your dancer would happen to get an artistic scholarship though, that would be a good sign!
Makes sense. At the audition they said they really don’t give out artistic scholarships and the best way to possibly get one is by attending NYCDA. I could totally be mangling it, but that’s pretty much how I remember it.
I had asked at the audition and he said that they give out very few but sometimes they’re able to. It would be great to see one pop up, just to give some hope on the dance acceptance.
I was told by a dance major on our college tour that being asked to stay for an interview doesn’t mean anything about acceptance. She said they may have questions in regard to your background and such. At my daughter’s audition they asked all the boys except one to stay for an interview and no girls.
I’m sure those that were held for an interview are hoping that it’s an indication of serious interest while those that weren’t interviewed are hoping the interview meant nothing at all. In any case, this feels like it’s taking forever while I sit here waiting to make travel plans for college visits as airline ticket prices increase.
We also are waiting waiting waiting! It’s the last one we need to make a decision! The financial aid offer came a long time ago, but no indication of an artistic scholarship. They also came back with more money about a month ago. Does anyone know if this is their spring break and maybe they are not there to make calls? Idk, but so ready to get this decision made!!
My daughter received an initial academic acceptance that included information about scholarship money being awarded. but the official financial package arrived yesterday.
At the audition they did tell the parents that there would not likely be any artistic scholarships awarded other than those through NYCDA, which you’d have to attend to be eligible.
I wish they would just post to the portal and call it a day. I understand the personal attention of calling but as I’m seeing with other majors, people are going just as crazy since the calls have began and continued over a few days. Hopefully today (but I doubt it ?)!
When we hear something I’ll update this thread.
Got the rejection in the mail tonight. Waitlisted for Fordham. So opposite of what we expected.
