Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

SLO is so much better despite it being inconvenient, it would be worth it in the long run. If i got in SLO, I would accept it in a heartbeat.

For those admitted and applying for on campus housing, were you able to file an application for their residence halls or suites the same day of your acceptance? Or was there a waiting period?

Well you can place the deposit as soon as possible or you can wait before the deadline which is may 1st and it is the same deadline as the ecd

For those of you who have been admitted to Cal Poly Pomona, there is a Facebook group for all you.
Congrats on your acceptances, and we’re glad that you’re now part of the Bronco family!
https://www.facebook.com/groups/calpolypomona2017/

I called cal poly pomona this morning to ask about my application. again. and they asked about my test scores (EPT ELM). so they put me on hold and verified that they were in my account. she said that she’ll forward it to her director that they were already there. though I don’t know why, but my test scores have been on my account for a while, it’s not like the system would miss it.

My son was accepted back in March or February. CPP was a backup school. However, the private school he was also accepted to will cost us $50,000 a year. I have a hard time seeing the value in spending this much even on Harvard. Our EFC is 52,000. So CPP is now numero uno. Am I to understand that even if you are accepted you might not get your preferred major (mechanical Engineering in this case)?

OldEng, I know what you mean about EFC shock. Your son’s acceptance email should have mentioned the major he was being accepted for. Or he should be able to check it on Pomona’s Bronco Direct website.

still nothing…

I just got waitlisted,
anyone know when I can hope to hear by?

Checked my Bronco Direct and it says waitlisted.

How the heck did my friend get provisional admit with a gpa lower than 3.0… -.-

Still nothing =[

^ Did you check your bronco direct??

Also, sorry for my ignorance, but what does it mean if I get waitlisted? Do I have to wait until May 1st or…?

Yep, I’ve been on my laptop for the past hour refreshing LOL

“Waitlisted” means that they consider you qualified, but they don’t have a space for you. They will offer you admission if a spot opens up. Students who are currently admitted have a deadline of May 1 to put in their intent to register, so spots may be opening up then.

If you browse pages ~93 to 110 of this message thread from this time period last year, you’ll see that a number of people got admitted in May, but some were even a good bit later.

@sillyxnilly Some majors are much easier to get into than others.

It’s passed 5, cpp local time. I have not received anything. My bronco direct looks the same as it did two months ago. I am transfer student and submitted my application October 1st. I applied as a music industry major.

Seems in general that first-time-freshman applicants got moved to waitlist today, whereas transfer applicants weren’t. At least as of right now.

We will be declining tomorrow because we changed majors, so that will open up at least one space. Good luck to you all still waiting, it’s a great school no doubt about it.

It’s extremely ridiculous of Cal Poly Pomona to hold up so many non impacted majors. I’ve seen someone from a Chemistry major been accepted last month and supposedly Undeclared major is an impacted major, yet every week they get accepted, it’s on instagram. I get if they are impacted they’d have some trouble being released, but what about the other majors? Chemistry isn’t impacted, what’s wrong with this system, maybe I should have just applied for Biology since that major is so impacted my friends have already gotten accepted since January. They’re freshmen applicants like me, living within the Local Area of the school, and they don’t even get distinguished for Local and nonlocal priorities since that major is impacted. CPP is *ing every single applicants, even those that applied way before everyone else, yet they are getting accepted. This may be a great school, that’s why everyone on this thread is still following up here, they want to somehow be in this school. Yet the school just probably milks it so much. its *ed^. let’s be honest, UC’s have released there stuff since Feb and March, Cal Poly Pomona Since December for some! It’s like they want you to apply to your other school so you don’t have to go to them. Some $55 well spent over here.

anyone know if they accept people over saturday/sunday? i really want to call them tomorrow but i don’t even know if they’re open…

my friend is only attending CPP if i get accepted so its making things really difficult. the f’ing UCs got their apps out before them, ***?

This has been a very frustrating process. I’m a transfer student with a GPA of 3.04. I’m majoring in Communications which is not impacted at CPP. I like most of you applied in October and here we are seven months later with absolutely no decision. I was told that all admission decisions would be made by Tuesday April 23rd. Off course no decisions. Then they told me by today. Still nothing. I understand that more spots will open up after May 1st, but that should be for students who are wait-listed. Where do I stand if I haven’t even been put on the wait-list? The stress is killing me!

Does anyone know if the “Golden Four” GPA for transfers is a contributing factor to go along with your overall GPA? Mine is about a 3.6.

Also, are there any other Communications majors on here? Have you been notified or know of someone who has?
