Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

You two received emails from Cal Poly Pomona? For what majors?

Regarding waitlist chances, I do wonder if a large number of accepted students will SIR to pomona or not. It’s quite a mystery.

@enruben I got mine for MechE as did Dimas. I believe that silly got his for CompSci.

@collegebound

Yeah i wonder the same, will we ever get in :/. Are you a FTF also? And what were your stats please?
Whoo for Mech. Eng

Sure Dimas. We’re in the same boat actually. Makes for a bit of camaraderie doesn’t it?

I am a FTF who is currently waitlisted for MechE. My EI is at 3900.

Does anyone know if you can call and ask where you are on the waitlist?

I find it interesting that last year’s average was most likely in the 4100 EI range for our major and now they’re wait listing people who would have exceeded that average last time. If they’d just release the standard deviation for every major bracket, we’d have a great idea if we’d get in or not.

^ Cool dude  i hope we both get in.
I actually called cause i was saddened upon recieving the wait list and all they did was explain the waitlist process. I asked about rankings and EI and they said everything depends on the amount of students who will attend. So she said theres a chance no one will get off the list :(.

Also can I ask what other schools you got in or are thinking to submit to?

correction “I believe that silly got HERS for CompENG(looks like English abbreviation).”

Yes, I am FTF.

Anyways, I might not even go to Pomona now. I really want to dorm and CSULB’s initial payment for dorming is $400 @___@ No refunds.

the admissions office just keeps me on hold.

they haven’t responded to my e-mail… their admissions facebook will not reply to students who are asking questions, including me.

(transfer: still stuck on “Application Received”)

I declined my admission offer as Comp. Engineering. Good luck getting off the waitlist!

Haha, sorry sillyxnilly. Didn’t mean to create any conflicts there xD

And yes, it is entirely possible that no one will deny their admission and that everyone will attend who they received. The chances of that though? Extremely slim.

Calculated my eligibility index just now, 3896.
Waitlisted as a first-time freshman for Computer Engineering and received an email regarding it last night. I replied today saying I’d like to stay on it; fingers crossed.

Sad that they don’t take writing into account ;_;

I’ll keep everyone posted if/when any further communication is made or my application status changes. I hope everyone else will do the same.

Best of luck to you all~!

Out of curiosity, enghopful, what was your eligibility index?

I was on the phone waiting. it’s 5:26 PM and I’ve been on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes. and hanging up now. fhuck that shiet

^yep, it is ridiculous. the worst part is that they repeat the automated info over and over again and its so slow/annoying…

also question: my friend is only attending if i get in. the deadline to SIR is today - it is okay for him to accept the SIR correct? and then if i don’t get in, he will just lose the 100 dollar deposit?

Yeah thats exactly what would happen op9no2. Just have to decide now so that way you guys can still have a chance of going together and if anything he would just lose the 100$ if it turns out you didn’t get in either.

Anyways, I honestly regret it so much that I applied here. It’s so depressing reading through past posts and seeing people having to check daily because their status is “Application Recieved”…in months of JULY… Honestly I heard people say it’s about GPA this and that but it’s driving me insane seeing people with lower then 3.0 getting accepted so easily with IMPACTED majors such as undeclared while there’s tons of people on this forum with 3.0+ and have not even heard a single thing. I am one of those who haven’t gotten a single email from the admins bout waitlist, my application still says application received, for an unimpacted major(computer science) with a 3.03 gpa. Cherry on top? Try to talk to anyone there and see if if you can get a single statement that would actually STICK. Its really really sad, this is our future, our education and yet they think we are just playing bingo, waiting for our number to be called.

Sorry for the rant, back to refreshing my broncodirect…

I’m done. All this anxiety just to be told, “Denied, CSU Elig, Not Redirect.” I am so sad…

What’s your major/gpa?

I called them yesterday and they told me that Computer Science admissions are already selected… meaning if your status is still “Application Received” that means the slots are most likely full. I did mention that Computer Science was an unimpacted major but the lady on the phone still said the slots were filled up, and 2014 Computer Science might become an impacted major.

But if that is the case I don’t know why the status would not be updated. There was some static on the phone and voice clarity was bad so I’m not 100% sure if this was what she really said, it’d be nice if somebody can call them and confirm it.

Are you also a Comp sci major superslowCPP?

See thats the thing I don’t understand. If its full, can I be put on the waitlist? If not, can I be denied? Why just leave it on application recieved, it makes me think they haven’t even SEEN my application lol…

Yeah. I am only slightly behind you in GPA and I applied as a transfer student.

I see, whats your plan B so far? I only have been admitted to SJSU so far so thats where I’ll go if anything…
