Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

is there anything you could do now that youve been waitlisted to increase your chances?

hi, i just want to update those people who have gotten the ominous “eligible for consideration” status. my friend(trying to transfer), who also got the same status, just visited the campus to turn in his initial transcripts for the fall quarter. he asked how long it’ll take for those who got ‘wait-listed’ to find out for sure and the response he got was that “eligible for consideration” doesn’t actually mean wait-listed. it just means that they’re still going over the applicants and some people will find out sooner than others. i don’t know how informed people working the desk at the office of admission are so maybe we shouldn’t get our hopes but this is what i JUST heard from my friend this morning.

Earlier today I emailed one of the people from admissions at cal poly about the eligible for consideration issue. They basicly replied saying it is NOT a waiting list, but that our files are now finally eligible to be reviewed since all of the Tier 1 local area students have already been informed of their status. Tier 2 students have been given lowest priority in terms of admission

Spoke to CPP again today about the transfer situation… now it’s apparently “sometime into April”.

So tier 2 students are to expected to know in April? I have applied as a transfer Tier 2 “Landscape Architecture & Design”

I just met with the Dept. Chair at the students Winter Review and he said he is giving faculty a few more days for application choices???

See the work from current students was so inspiring but also daunting - waiting to know if I will be accepted…ugggg??

Anyone else applied to Landscape Arch Design?? - My status still reads - Complete - Application incomplete???

I think your right - I was just at CPP for winter quarter review of students work - and met with the interim dept. head - he said he gave faculty extended days to go thru the applications… Crossing my fingers for Landscape Arch and Design -

I got the acceptance from CS - San Marcos - like most hoping for Cal Poly

MY Bronco still states Complete - Application Status incomplete - but just saw the Enrollment payment link too - so it is just everyone i think… keep crossing our fingers and good luck to ALL

just got off the phone from someone in admissions office and they told me “impacted major csu eligible” is the same thing as “eligible for consideration” but for impacted majors

Gah… the “eligible for consideration” is killing me…

@wow
i also applied to cal poly for landscape as a tier 2 transfer student.
this has been killing me for the better part of the month…i think imma start losing my hair

looks like the CPP people are clueless themselves. The defenition for “Eligible for Consideration” seems to change. Waitlisted, Impacted, Reviewing. I’m just going to wait to see if they accepted or rejected me. Even if I have to pull my hair for another month. -_-

My application is still under review for impacted major for Mechanical Engineering. I’m hoping decisions are released before the end of the week.

Ya for 2 weeks I didn’t check Bronco - Then I went to CPP quarter winter review met the dept. chair and another professor met some grad students… I was so pumped to get in - truly inspiring for this program. ugggg -

I got my back up acceptance - so that tells me that my GE are accepted in the CU system…which is good for CPP -

The variables to consider now is How many tier 1 and 2 have applied to landscape design & if over the seats - then GPA… mine is ok

I Actually have started to meditate and visually seeing my self reading the accepted on my application -

Hope we both get in…

PS - The Department Chair for Landscape Arch & Design - said this Program is NOT IMPACTED… :slight_smile: :slight_smile: …

Application Status:
Provisional Admit

Transfer, out of area, CIS program
huuuuge weight off my shoulders.

congratulations!!

@c5load
congrats! i wished my app status said that too. i dont think ill be able to get into the cis program with just a 2.8 gpa.

@admitme- I only had a 3.0 at the time of application (up to a 3.4 now). keep your head up.

Hmmm, what do you guys think?

I’m under 'Eligible for Consideration" holding a 2.9 GPA with 2 AA degrees hoping to get into Sociology, if possible, if I’m admitted, ad Art as my major. I’m in a tier 1 school and have like 90 + transferables and finished the CSU Breadth pattern thingy last spring but I mean, I still worry. What do you guys think?

Finally some answers after the 3rd phone call to admissions office. A nice lady who actually didn’t mind taking time to understand my question rather before the others blew me off with generic answers (that didn’t help).

My Q - Ok my application status reads “Incomplete File” Yet right below this line - it read “Application Complete” - So why are these status contradictory of each other?

A: So the lady took the time to look up my file by name - checked to make sure I marked all citizenship qs (which she said most skipped Q on app) - Then she checked that all my transcripts were in and I didn’t have anything listed on (things to do) - She said Everything is in for us to review - So I will up-date your status to READY TO REVIEW…

Very interesting…I know this application period is history in the making for number of applicants…luckily I am not applying to an impacted program. :)

Now my application is ready for review - Next will state “Admitted” :slight_smile: :slight_smile: Positive thinking, and praying… LOL.

@c5load
Did your application status page say “This application is Incomplete.” right above the transcript section before you got provisional admit?
