Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

^ Haha oh ok. What did you bring?

How long does it take for your status to change from provisional admit to admit?

Woah, after getting denied a few months back I just got an acceptance letter from CPP 2 hours ago. I already paid for classes at CSUN, I guess I will have to talk to Cal Poly about it tomorrow.

Ok stoked out of my mind! After being on the waitlist for the past 2 months, I just got an email at 8:30 this evening saying I am accepted! Nothing like waiting till the last minute…

just curious, what kind of stats do you late admits have?

^^^ I have an AA from a Tier 1 school, 2.8 gpa, and I have my IGETC certification.

3.2 GPA for me

banana-boi,

are you a transfer? If not, what’s your SAT score?

I submitted my ACT score which I think was a 24 or 25

W*F?!!! People still getting accepted now!?!? LOLLLLL

What the hell is Cal Poly doing…?

Good luck getting classes. LOL

I posted the following a few months ago…

""I hope Cal Poly isn’t making a huge mistake by being overly selective only to find out later that the are short of students and having to scramble to fill the spots at the last minute with bottom of the barrel students. There seems to be a bunch of highly qualified students that will be going to UCs and LBSU and CSUF when their first choice was Pomona. This is unprecedented. I realize that they’re aiming for 3,000 combined freshmen and transfer students next year when they had over 4,500 this year, and there are about 8,000 more applicants this year. Do these numbers justify the jump in admissions standards this year? I guess we’ll find out, but I sure hope the admissions office knows what they are doing. “”

I think this discussion has shifted to the "Was rejected, now accepted!!!struggling!!! thread.

I just got an admission offer letter today for Business major after initially getting a rejection letter in May, and a double rejection to my appeals letter.

I was also denied after they explained due that it was due to budget cuts but couple weeks ago, I got an acceptance letter from CPP so I turned in my final transcript, SIR, ECD & also applied for orientation. I am a transfer student majoring in Business and when they told me I was denied, I dropped one of my classes that I need for my major. I called admissions to ask if that would affect my admission & they told me I should be fine but the lady didn’t seem to confident she seemed like she wanted to get me off the phone so does anyone know if I can still be accepted? My admission status on Bronco Direct is now “provisional admit” and my orientation is 8/26. I was accepted into Calpoly when I graduated from high school but received a D in my English class which led them to deny my admission to CPP AFTER I paid all my fees, bought parking, enrolled in class, & attended orientation which all of them are nonrefundable so CPP seems a little shady. They make you pay for everything and tell you last minute that you’re denied… I’m hoping they don’t screw me over this time… especially after I paid the ECD & orienation fee! Please respond if you know anything about the dropped class I have & if it affects my admission. Thanks.

CPP paper pushers might be incompetent, but I don’t think they’re shady. As far as your first rejection from high school, that’s just CSU policy, so they had no choice in taking back their admissions offer. As far as this year, I think they screwed up in admitting all these students late in the summer and it’s completely unprofessional and unprecedented. I really don’t know what’s going on in this regard but since they admitted you this late in the game, they must be desperate to fill the spots and should be liniant and should let you take the class at CPP or MtSac. Just curious, what were your stats?

Just got back from transfer orientation. There were approximately 400 peeps there. Of the folks I had the opportunity to meet, their GPAs were between 2.9-3.5.

Classes pertinent to majors are pretty much filled, but if I can get into IBM 200-02, I’ll be good. I’ll look into GE Synthesis courses to pad up my schedule. I’m relieved to learn from orientation that priority registration is based on total accumulated units. New transfer students has the upper hand in this regards vs newly entering freshmen :).

I currently have a registration hold/block for not passing the EMT, cuz CPP have not received my final spring 2010 transcript yet. Hopefully it’ll appear in my transfer course work on Monday so I can go ahead and register :)

It’s ridiculous that they thought the could reject 3.8 gpas and then wait until late summer to accept applicants with average gpas. This is the most visited thread of any California college this year and they made many people needlessly lose sleep. We’ll see what the official stats are when they come out, but if they’re just average, someone will have to be fired so this doesn’t happen again next year.

is this thread over?

…haha i remember when i got my rejection email from cal poly during my senior year…i just wanted to die…all those stupid AP classes for nothing.blaaaaah…Two months later, they accept me lol…i felt like dying all over again…lol…i always thought it was just me this happen to…

i just receive email fr calpoly, got accepted into food nutrition major

Congrats, gakii28! By the way, what are your stats?
