Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

After May 1, there will be spots open for those in the waitlist for sure? Because I know not everyone is going to CPP. >__<.

I have a friend who’s son was placed on the waitlist as a freshman several years ago, he has since graduated and is in his career. He was called sometime in the summer and did accpet CPP’s offer and did graduate from CPP.

I guess this is customary for CPP…I have just never seen it before.

I think at the end, it’s true, there will be spots available. Some have been waitlisted in other places and may put CPP down just to have a place and if that other school comes through for them, they will drop out and take the better offer.

I am sure the drama is far from over.

Anybody planning to attend or are currently attending CPP for business? If so what makes you attend for business? Is it a strong program?

According to the FAFSA site, around a quarter of the people who got accepted to CPP decided to attend CPP. The 3/4 that got accepted went elsewhere. I guess that gives us a chance or no…?

x14sta unfortunately that was for fall 2011 (last year’s).

Since it’s last year’s, then the margin between these two years shouldn’t be too big.

One of my friends who got waitlisted is going to another school, which gives a slot to another potential Cpp student.

@x14sta

At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 32% of those offered admissions enrolled

At the neighboring “uber-selective” Pomona College = 39%

…and that was when 23,946 admissions were received in 2011. For 2012 there were 30,000 admissions–the highest perceptual increase at the Cal State system (except from Cal Maritime, but it could be consider an outlier due to its small size and unique programs).

@CEinCali Wait… This thread is for Cal Poly Pomona not Cal Poly SLO or Pomona College.

@x14sta I think cpp’s target enrollment is about 3,000 FTF’s. But those stats include people accepted from the wait list too so we can’t get any info out of that.

http://www.csupomona.edu/~irar/facts/docs/Just_the_Facts_F11.pdf

Oooh I see what you’re saying. Hopefully, out of the 3,000 enrolled… There will be a handful of slots given to the waitlisters.

I think cpp just ran out of time and thats y everyones been waitlisted, I think there are still acceptances to come consittering there have been no rejections yet

Sent from my SPH-D700 using CC

A few people who got accepted recently are rejecting Cpp due to how slow they are.

Anyone else still at “Referred to Impacted Plan” or am I the only one?

One of my friends is for MechE.

I applied for CPP Business program. I am currently seeing “App Received” still and a bit worried because I haven’t received a wait list email.

p.s. I’m also in CPP service area.

@jacob Where is your school district?

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

jdmjacob7, I’m still int he same boat as you. Transfer student outside their local area. I didn’t get a wait list email either.

apparently 2 of my friends who got waitlisted arent waiting either.

This is when people who really want to attend CPP are left while everyone else made their decisions. I’m not saying EVERYONE who applied are rejecting CPP, but there are some people :D. Just some…

So who’s going to wait?

Yeah, I think this is a way to scare off people that are waiting. My friend has like until June to accept CSUN’s decision. I’m glad he is sticking it out 'cause CPP engineering >> CSUN engineering.

He was telling me how we were broken down into tiers and that it’s from where we actually live. So, since I live in X county, I was second tier. My school is in LA county, though.

Also…does anyone know about the living arrangements there?

There’s this amazingly good looking girl who is an engineering major (that was accepted) that wants to share an apartment with us (3 guys), but I’m not sure if there are any rules against that. :P

I was accepted a few weeks ago as a transfer student :)

I suggest those of you concerned call admissions and ask if your information is correct. Apparently, I was listed as still having a golden four requirement in process(which had been finished last fall), and it also stated that I had an insufficient number of units. Once these were cleared up and I sent them my current transcript, I was admitted a few days later.

I think the communication is lacking, because they had never once contacted me asking for transcripts to show my completed golden four, and had that been done, I may not have been waiting as long. Regardless, I’m thrilled I got in, good luck to all you as well!
