Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

@itzEdward… No I was admitted a couple weeks ago.

I’m still waiting as a FTF

Well, one of my good friends said he called CPP and they told him he was on the wait-list. Or at least he said that’s what “Referred to Impacted Plan” means. The crummy thing is he doesn’t know what his position is on the wait-list. Could be in the next 5, 10, 20, or 3000.

I don’t expect him to get in mostly because I feel like there are a lot of qualified applicants that want to do Mechanical Engineering as a transfer. He currently has a 2.7. My other friend did get accepted into MechE like a week ago with a 3.2 but who knows how many applicants are from 2.8-3.2.

Surprisingly, I haven’t checked my Bronco Direct for a couple of weeks. I figured, I kind of gave up refreshing it daily.

Either way, there’s still a supplemental app for engineers. I haven’t heard from them yet :/.

What do you guys truly think of CPP? Was it just a backup school? Or where you truly wanted to go? Do you think it has much of a reputation?

I never heard of it until I applied. I do know that it is better than the two other California schools I applied to (Fresno & Northridge).

Anyone know anything about their math department? Or physics?

@caldud I actually never heard of anything Cal Poly until I did my college researching last summer. I did know about the UC’s and other csu’s.

Hello everyone this is what I read on the cpp website. “Please note that admission will be rescinded for all applicants who are found not to be eligible after the final transcript has been evaluated.” So. practically many of us have to wait until the final document deadline which for fall 2012 is July 15, 2012.
[Important Deadlines for Transfers (transfer_deadline.asp)](http://dsa.csupomona.edu/admissions/transfer_deadline.asp)

@Caldud: I never heard of it until last year, when I came to see my counselor. At first, I only aimed for CSULB and CSUF (which I also got in); but my counselor suggested me to also apply for Pomona. After doing some research, I became my top choice instead of Long Beach.

P/S: I already submitted my transcript, and my status change to UGRD Clear After Prov Admit. Does that mean I’m clear admitted? My to-do-list still showed “incomplete” as I have to send in my verif of immigration status.

Yeah, you’re clear admitted.

I’m still taking 3 required core classes, so I won’t expect to be cleared till like late June.

Physics 120 (Electricity & Magnetism), Comm 101, and English 102. The letter said all I needed was a 2.0 average (shooting for a 4.0) for this semester to be clear-admitted. I’m so excited to finally leave my CC. Although, if I had stayed on for another year, I wouldn’t know anyone on campus anymore. Seems like everyone I know is leaving this year. Would be kind of pointless to stay on another year though cause I have nothing left to take after this semester.

So, Caldud, are you a transfer or FTF? Why did you send transcripts? FTF will be the last as they will not have transcript info till end of June.
I am hoping even though there were many more applicants, some may still not attend due to finance. State schools are not offering 100% assistance anymore and there are out of pocket expenses. Some just can’t afford it.
CPP is very good for many subjects and their style of teaching got my attention however, CSULB and Cal Poly SLO are better in the medical field…or pre-medical.

AnnieOak, I am a transfer. I sent in my transcripts 'cause it was the first thing on my to-do list to send in my initial transcripts after they put me down as a “provisional admit”. They don’t require transcripts unless you’re an engineering major or your program is impacted, I think (for transfers).

They require my final transcripts later on to make sure I kept up my end of the deal, which is:

I am hoping the waiting list accepts some of my friends and that a lot of people choose not to attend kind of as well. One of my friends will being paying entirely from his savings for 3 years of CPP (he has about 100K in the bank, which I am insanely jealous of). Unfortunately, I picked this institution basically because I could never have afforded a UC (I can barely afford this one with all the loans I have to take out). I think that for the upper-middle class it puts people in a tough spot when applying to the UC’s right now since I think (like my family) they tend to have a higher EFC, even if they can’t really pay what they’re asking. I am basically paying the entire cost of CPP from loans because my EFC was high. Didn’t qualify for any grants or anything. As for one of my relatively poor friends, he had a 3.0 and got into UCLA…only has to pay for housing. Even if I got into UCLA, I would’ve had to pay nearly the full price for two years of education.

No im not impacted, anthropology major and had send in transcripts in april. And a transfer.

Has anyone heard any updates from CPP in terms of having their application status changed?

Does anybody know if CPP required TOFEL score for legal resident. I did some online research online and people said that for permanent residents or US citizens, you don’t need TOEFL. I already sent in a copy of my green card; but the TOEFL score still remained in my to-do-list. Is anybody in the same situation as me?

Hey guys! If you’ve been accepted as a FTF, and will be attending in the Fall, join the Cal Poly Pomona Class of 2016 FB page (: [Log In | Facebook](Cal Poly Pomona Class of 2016 | Facebook)

called the admissions today… transfers who haven’t been waitlisted will hear something anytime from now to June 1st (according to what I’ve been told)… well last time they said we’ll be notified by April 15th, now I don’t know what to think :/… I am soooo tired… I hate BroncoDirect’s PAGE

I’m really bummed out because I’m supposed to tell my high school where I’m planning to attend by this friday… And with no decision from CPP yet…

I’m so bummed too. i had to tell my HS where i will end up also. Had to write PCC… it also sucked when i had to apply there today.

No one heard from CPP yet? ‘~’. Or is CPP going to extend the June 1 deadline to like… What… June 15?

This isn’t a rumor or anything. I’m just making wild accusations at this point.

The reason for the waitlist right from the horse’s mouth (no offense Mr. Ortiz) is the limbo with the state budget and upcoming tax initiative. He gave no exact date for when the waitlist would be lifted but the election will be on June 5th.
