I’m pretty sure you’ll need to have 90 units to switch to an engineering major, which usually takes 2 years if you take 15 units each quarter.

It’s also one of the more heavily impacted engineering majors at CPP.

I applied October 5, and I still did not received anything from CPP.
is computer science major impacted?
is it hard to get into computer science major?
is it possible to receive a acceptance letter this late?
and when is the last day they send accept/decline letters for incoming freshman ?

I can’t wait :(

status : cal state gpa: 3.5 and act 21

do you guys think i can get in?

I haven’t gotten anything yet either :\ Just “application received” and the “This application is complete” below it. Should I just assume I didn’t get in already? My grades and scores are very… iffy.

GPA: 3.23
SAT: CR: 500 , M: 560
SAT 2 Math: 620

I applied for psychology major, which I think is usually an impacted major.

Also the site is under maintenance right now, so I dunno what that means as far as admissions goes.

Lucccky, I’m going to major in Computer Science too, and no, it’s not an impacted major; those are generally for schools of Engineering, and Comp Sci is in the College of Sciences. I’m positive you can get in, and from what I’ve heard from the past, they’re notorious for sending freakishly early acceptances and then sending them out in waves up to late April. So don’t worry, I believe in you! :)

@bakabon thank you so much!
i’ve only gotten into monterey bay state and SJSU. I wouldn’t mind SJSU too much but I live like 10 minutes away…
Also based off of what I’ve seen online, CPP looks great, though I haven’t visited yet.
Good luck with comp sci!

IMO It looks alright I guess but it’s not the most scenic campus (it’s between several major freeways). Why can’t they hurry up with the decisions aggghhhhhh. Although I wouldn’t mind just going to CSULB, if it weren’t for the commute there… (I live in SGV so CPP is like, right there)

@ mmbear It’s so funny! After months of waiting and worrying, I decided to check my Portal, and I’ve been admitted! What a relief.
Now I have to wait for UC Irvine, to nurse my broken pride after being rejected from UCSD and UCSB. -___-""

I couldn’t tell you what the entire campus looks like but from what I’ve seen from the main campus it looks pretty well kept. As a commuter though I really don’t care too much about how pretty the campus is just as long as I can get a good education. It is very well maintained. Where you’ll be taking a majority of your classes though has been quite small in my experience. I’ve mostly taken my classes in the engineering or science building, but that makes sense since I’m a junior.

I gotta tell you, we just finished finals week. The campus is nicer when there’s less people. If you take the time to head over to the various gardens it is really nice I hear. I still haven’t done that, even though I just finished my second quarter here. You’ll be kept pretty busy if you’re doing a science/engineering major. I walk from the parking structure to the library or its adjacent starbucks every morning Mon-Fri and I think the campus looks nice.

The library will be your second home.

@Danceyrslfcln14:
I’m an applied math/stats major here. I like my teachers and classes. It is very hands on and we do a lot of applied math projects to supplement our coursework. They do have a core here though that must be taken by any stats, applied math, or pure track which still encompasses a good dose of theoretical classes like Real Analysis and Abstract Algebra. But I have to ask 'cause I thought about transferring from CPP to Davis but decided otherwise. What was it about the academics?

Also, congratulations BakaBon.

Congrats Bakabon! :D

I’m on the same boat with you there… except I didn’t really have much of a chance of getting into those schools x__x Still waiting though!

Also thanks CalDud for the review
I probably wont be commuting very much if I get in so hopefully I’ll like it.

Just got accepted this morning with a Computer Science major.
if I got in, you guys should too! Good luck!
Here are my stats:
Undergrad Freshman, 3.4 unweighted GPA, 1790 SAT.

Update: I got the email congratulating me, so all I need to do now is pay for my deposit and fill out some paperwork for financial aid.

@CalDud Hello there! Good to see that there’s someone that is a math major because I haven’t found any in-depth information about CPP’s math department. Also, glad to hear good things about their department as well. Anyway, to me, I found that the price of the education wasn’t worth it. My professors were extremely intelligent, but I didn’t think they were great at lecturing. Some just basically copied information (word for word) from the book and just displayed to the class. I wasn’t impressed, to say the least. At times, I found professors from my CC that more inspiring than UCD’s. In addition, I have no plans on going to grad school (I want to get into actuarial science), so I just thought to myself, “let’s not get in debt by continuing my education at Davis. What I could do is transfer back to SoCal and attend to CPP. I go to back to working and alleviate myself financially.”

I sent in my application on October 4th, 2012, and I just got my acceptance today. I thought i was a goner for sure!

Major: Mechanical Engineering
SAT:1720
GPA: 3.1 UW / 3.6 W

Anyone with a Graphic Design or Communications major heard back yet? I’m kind of starting to worry since April 1st is almost a week away.

Just curious if there are any engineering major transfers out there that have received their request for a supplemental application?

The supplemental app. for me was to send in my transcripts that has my fall '12 grades + spring 2013 class schedule.

I’m in EE.

For me the supplemental was a personal statement asking me to explain what experiences/talents/etc I have that will allow me to be successful in getting the degree. Also had to write about ec

I havent heard back yet at all, im worried …
