Wait so both of you are going to pomona? :)

If you didnt sign up for EOP while doing the application process, then you are most likely not in it. It’s too late to sign up but it’s only for people that are from low income families.

I did the eop. But my teachers send the letter of recommendation late. About two weeks ago.

@oreocory321 uhm theres nothing under it besides a to-do list which are my two placement tests

@Lakersince
Yea i got in to UCSB for MechE but my first choice is Pomona.
If they dont send me anything ill go to SB but ill cancel my intent so i can go to CPP.!

Cant miss the chance!

Can we defer our ecd and housing deposit?

My understanding is that, for the impacted engineering majors, they are going entirely by your eligibility index, which is your GPA (as calculated on the CSU application, including adjustments for AP and Honors classes) multiplied by 800, then added to your SAT critical reading and math scores (only those two – not your writing score).

Has anyone been accepted to Mechanical Engineering with an eligibility index below 4000? If so, I’d be interested to hear the details of your numbers.

Will I get rescinded with a D in ap stats? i just got provisionally admitted

@navaho78: I’m going to say yes but call.

@ac40507: I don’t think so.

My application is still “Application Received” as a Computer Science Major.

Although my gpa is pretty low.

GPA: 2.8
SAT without writing: 1200

Seems like they accept or reject the outliers first and the middle people get accepted mostly later

@derockn00: Has anyone actually received a rejection, particularly for any of the engineering programs?

I didn’t think they actually rejected anyone. I thought it worked liked this:

You are put on a list according to your credentials. People get in and take up spots. The students who are accepted decline those acceptances that don’t want to come and free up more spots for people down the list.

My friend tried to transfer into Mechanical Engineering from a CC with a 2.7. I think the lowest they dipped for CC transfers was a 3.2 for ME. Anyways my 2.7 friend even during the fall quarter was still on “Referred to Impacted Plan” and was already enrolled at CSUN. They don’t take you off the “waitlist” but after a certain date it doesn’t matter you can’t enroll anyway.

I think each college wants a certain yield and they take as many of the best students applying for that particular program and let in some not-so-great applicants because they’re local or disadvantaged or whatever (if it’s not impacted). I think this school is pretty big on getting people to come here that are first generation students. When a program needs more students they obviously make the range of students they want bigger. There is a certain threshold though for most majors but that goes by year.

@caldud
My friend already got a rejection letter in march. Apparently if you’re status say “referred to impacted plan” you’re still in the running. And when I say rejection letter, I mean like a hard copy mailed to his house

@angeleno

He was applying for mechanical with a 2.8 gpa. Their rep said they usually don’t go below 3.0 for ME

@RolledUp What did the rep say their cutoff normally is for MechE?

@rolledup Thanks, was your friend a transfer student or freshman?

He was a transfer student. Sub 3.0 GPA’s don’t get in for engineering. It is possible for non-impacted programs but like I said. Each major/college has their own threshold.

@RolledUp: Interesting. Well, sorry for your friend.

Well put caldud

Everyone gets “provisional admit” till the first day of classes start.
So congrats! You got accepted!
