One possibility is that, due to budget cuts, the CSUs have to reduce capacity.

I was told that Cal Poly is considerably tough to transfer into. They focus admissions more on freshman applicants I believe.

Thank you for applying to Cal Poly. We have received your application. No determination has been made at this time.

why mine take sooooo long…

Is there anything on your to-do list? I applied to Fullerton and I haven’t had a decision yet since they apparently have not received my transcript that I sent a month ago.

blackbird914

nth on to do list im wondering is it they just not going accept me?
same situation, I have send transcript to CSULB , like >2 weeks, and it show not received my transcript too

Got into CSUN (my other backup school besides UCR).

Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.39 actually.

I’m sure you’re fine just give it a little more time Cal Poly SLO receives a lot of applicants. Yeah it isn’t surprising with how understaffed they most likely are. Are you going to send your transcripts again? I’ll probably call this week and probably end up having to do that.

Blackbird, does your to-do list have anything else that you need to send written in the description? I had to give them an unofficial grade card and/or unofficial transcript with my golden four class info before my fall grades were removed from my list. I was already admitted at the time. Make sure you read the fine print!

so getting into cal poly as a transfer student …is a really low chance ?

It is my understanding that all CSUs and UCs are required by the state to maintain a ratio of 60% upperclassmen to 40% freshmen and sophomores combined in order to provide sufficient opportunities for CCC transfers to obtain admission to a four year university. If Cal Poly SLO is not accepting transfer students so that they can admit more freshmen it would appear they are in violation of this policy. Admission to Cal Poly SLO is very competitive for both freshmen and transfers but it is a little difficult to believe that a transfer applicant with a 3.93 GPA would be waitlisted. It could be there is something else in this applicant’s background that would make them unacceptable but in that case they would have simply been rejected rather than put on the wait list.

Cal Poly is extremely competitive. The school itself really looks out for its students and give them many opportunities for interns/jobs. I would say Cal Poly is on par with most UC’s in certain majors(with the exception of UCB, UCLA, UCSD.) The undergraduate education of engineering is competitive to even the best UC’s, and is what cal poly is most known for. It is indeed a really great school. Statistics wise, Cal poly graduates have a very high employment rate.

Well rejected from sdsu, whatever

@kitty- me too!!! I’m pretty surprised…and also worried. If I can’t get into sdsu how am I supposed to get into the UCs.

Lol I got denied from SDSU and I got accepted to UCI. Hmmm, I would rather go to UCI than SDSU…

Thank you ravous. If I get into UCSD then ima email sdsu with a big middle finger ASCII picture

Same kitty, I also applied to UCSD, if I get in there I’ll send an email right with yah!

Hahaha, they must know we actually want to go to a UC…

Will those who got accepted AND rejected share their majors/gpas? I am a BSN premajor as a transfer and I still haven’t heard if I am even accepted to SDSU, then I STILL have to wait for acceptance into the program. ugh.

Well, SDSU takes a lot of local students with lower GPA. They have a lot of TAG-like programs with the local CC’s and as a result take students with ~ 3.0 GPA from those schools. So, you get people from nor cal with 4.0’s getting rejected because there is no room left. It really sucks for people who aren’t local and really wanted to go there.

I got rejected as a psych major with a 3.83 GPA from SDSU.
